24/6/2015 07:57 | Bob how many £ millions you have made this year? as you add well. Glad we have you around. | the champion
24/6/2015 07:56 | Bobsidian - i agree. Dangote has been building that refinery for last 3 years simply to buy oil from multiple producers and sell to the market. He does not intend to be a producer only a refiner .if he wants an oil company there are far better opportunities in Nigeria than afren in its current state. | jungmana
24/6/2015 07:51 | As usual equity market participants have contrived to add 1 and 1 together to make 3. The construction of a refinery is not the same as the acquisition of a "distressed" oil producer. The cost to any acquiror is not just the equity but the equity and the outstanding debt. Nigeria like all other oil producing nations has been hit hard by the speed of the collapse in the price of oil. Now oil companies are adapting their business plans to reflect the possibility of oil remaining at around $60 a barrel for at least the next two years. And that is without the near term possibility of Iran being free to add at least an additional 1.5 million barrels per day to world supply. Building a refinery is one thing ; acquiring an oil producing company which is cost efficient in a $60 per barrel environment is something else. | bobsidian
