26/1/2023 10:35 | Personally, I am waiting for teens, perhaps between 12-15p. I'm still waiting to see a massive drop, right now, anything above 20p is a good sell.DYOR | hugotanha
26/1/2023 09:58 | ABB will be utilising AFC units to balance data centre power and to put power back into the grid...From the horses mouth yesterday | mr sossidge
25/1/2023 21:19 | Danel Turk - data centre solutions portfolio manager at ABB - posted tonight on LinkedIn... "On site generation is increasing and indeed fuel cell as element is part if it. That goes along with point "giving back to grid" where AFC portfolio helps to expand our (ABB's) offering" | mr sossidge

20/1/2023 11:05 | yes cyber it would be very useful to examine the Peel Hunt assumptions. I liked Bonds you tube effort he appears to have got beyond the reception desk. But only just. | holism
19/1/2023 21:10 | I've been keeping a (distant) eye on AFC for a few years, as I'm a strong supporter of environmentally friendly energy, and of course the market for that is growing exponentially worldwide. I tend to agree with a poster below that although the AFC tech looks excellent and they're making good commercial contacts and holding successful small-scale site trials, they must still be another 24 months from the profitability inflection point? Do LTHs here agree, or do you see profitability within 12 months say? My concern is just that the £160M cap (ok say £130M EV due to the cash pile), while it doesn't seem excessive given their tech and growing momentum, is it likely to grow significantly while they're still burning probably £10-12M p.a. with the increased headcount etc? The 195p target from Peel Hunt seems a bit ludicrous to my eye, what is it based on? Is it a 5-year target share price say? Do we have any idea what profit margin AFC are projecting on the S-series 100kW towers, like the trial one they've sold to ABB at £4M? Thanks for any info. | cyberbub
19/1/2023 20:41 | Not if businesses want to be (and be seen to be) green, ie use bio-methanol or e-methanol. People will rightly say what's the point of producing methanol from coal or natural gas and then using it as a hydrogen carrier for fuel cells? The original chemical reaction is a dirty one! | cyberbub
19/1/2023 17:45 | Its all about when? | holism
19/1/2023 17:42 | i think it was green hydrogen too. Savings there I assume. | holism
19/1/2023 17:08 | I note the comment below by 'Miguel' which seems credible - but when he says the Tower costs were comparable to diesel gensets, was this based on the currently much-elevated price of diesel? ie in a year or two the fuel cell might compare quite badly if diesel drops 30% say? | cyberbub
18/1/2023 18:08 | Peel Hunt said: “It has been a tough few years for smaller companies, with investors preferring more liquid names. However, there are always good opportunities in the smaller cap space, whether the attractions are growth, value or income related.” . They are not wrong. I have been thinking for a while that AIM will be the next market to boom. Look at the charts for the FTSE 100 and FTSE 350, they have recovered their 'covid-19' losses since early 2020 and some, AIM has not, YET, and the big money will be looking at where it can make the most money. With FTSE 100 and FTSE 350 back up, AIM is the place waiting patiently for the biggest gains in 2023, and it's on the start of an uptrend. . Look at the 5 year charts: . FTSE 100 . FTSE 350 . 18/1/2023 17:53 | They'd better not- hoping for longer term gains and value standing on our own two feet rather than buyout at the starting line.. | badger010776
18/1/2023 16:38 | "26 small-cap and AIM share picks for 2023" . "The biggest share price upside is seen at AFC Energy, which during 2022 deployed its fuel cell systems at the construction sites of several high-profile contractors. The systems provide emissions-free power for applications such as cranes or for charging diggers and excavators." . "Peel Hunt said: “We are positive about AFC Energy’s prospects in 2023. It is becoming increasingly evident that the company’s products are likely to be in strong demand.” The bank’s “buy” recommendation and 195p target compares with a current price of 20p." . | haggismchaggis |
