Introducing Smart ID Cards
Smart card technology has emerged as an ideal solution to meet these complex needs, by offering superior technology, quality and performance/price ratio over any other identity tool available today. Smart cards provide an unrivalled technology platform to securely host and manage logical and physical identity credentials, targeting closed corporate and government environments, as well as ID programmes on a nationwide scale.

ID Data is the biggest supplier of smart cards to the UK Government and has been in this position for the past five years. In partnership with Toppan we are also leaders in the fields of advanced biometrics and accreditation, having worked with our partner Toppan on solutions for both the United Nations and the Olympic Committee.

There is talk, that ARX and IDD are to get together on a sceme whereby we will all have to carry a 6ft by 4ft carbon fibre ID card. This will help out ARX as they can skim the sides off fom all then deformed uld sidings, also, no one carrying the card will be able to get through a plane or train door, not to mention the impossibility of hiding behind a pillar-box. The trials,(it is suggested by unknown sources) may start in Walthamstow and High Wycombe.

The timing of production problems announcement seemed a little out of the blue to me, I suspect they have been producing uld's slowly and with alot of wastage for some time - given the possible tight margins on the product, the inefficiency couldn't continue, and they have drawn a line in the sand. Equally bizarre is the finance being stretched out to allow a current production run to be completed..... the money men are pretty quick to pull funding if they believe all is lost.

There is a possibility that this is an excuse to get rid of an inefficient, expensive production facility, keep the designs, the approvals, patents and marketing and team up with someone else to manufacture.

But they will need more boxes eventually to put the extra luggage due to the new hand luggage rules.

as there doesnt seem to be any aircraft taking off the need for the boxes isnt crucial, Arx may be able to catch up on deliveries..lol

All airlines happy with product. but have had delays due to the production delays. Virgin are still waiting for some of the ordered ulds. So have recently placed an order for 500 ulds with Nordisk. This order would have gone to Arx if there were not the production problems.

$10m not £10m.

Big difference.

Ram6ler - the real problem is they do hot have the resources to staff and equip the production line to fill the £10m order - downward spiral, until radical re-capitalisation and re-structuring. Last August's 12p peak was the time to get out - if only we'd all realised it :(
