Arc Exploration finds gold-copper-molybdenum zone at Trenggalek
By Proactive Investors

Arc Exploration's (ASX: ARX) rock chip sampling from initial benching at the Singgahan Prospect of its Trenggalek Project in East Java, Indonesia, has highlighted a broad zone of anomalous gold-copper-molybdenum in the weathered bedrock.

Results include 140 metres at 0.045ppm gold, 386ppm copper and 4ppm molybdenum as well as 100 metres at 0.063ppm gold, 276ppm copper and 5ppm molybdenum.

Jas

I seem to remember reading somewhere that AIM stocks never appear on the list - only main market shares.

If you want to claim the loss on ARX, I believe that it needs to be agreed with your tax inspector. Alternative is to put it through at £0 on the CGT forms (with appropriate notes on the calculation sheet) and see what happens.

Anyone know if I can claim ARX as a tax loss yet on my tax return. ARX does not appear on the following list yet.

If you can what dates and prices can I use.

Thanks in advance

ARX have a deal/arrangement with Watermark do they not ?

One of advfn top losers today

UK smallcap opening - Watermark plunges as finance talks end, forecast slashed

LONDON (AFX) - Shares in Watermark were out of favour, plunging 28-1/2 pence
to 79-1/2 following news that the company, which provides in-flight products and
services to the airline industry, has terminated talks with potential providers
of private equity finance and slashed its full-year profit prediction by 2.7 mln
stg to around 3.1 mln.

That sounds like another nail in the lid to me !

biswell - 21 Jul'06 - 17:55 - 28130 of 28134

Oh dear look what Watermark said yesterday in a RNS

'Following recent discussions with potential providers of private equity, these revenue streams have been downgraded by a further #0.6m and expected income derived from the sale of cargo containers has been downgraded by #0.4m. '

When a Co goes bust, eventually the shares end up on the Shares of Negligible Value list, meaning they can be included in CGT calcs. I expect ARX to join them. But List doesn't seem to include PTG, Stratus or VEOS. is this because they were AIM shares?
If so, how does the write down work?

Could someone do a reverse takeover of ARX and turn it into a completely different company? What's the likelyhood?
Posted at 11/1/2008 12:34 by mad mike
steve36 is right. I phone the relevant taxation helpline to get confirmation, but in the end it is up to the Tax inspector to decide if it isn't on their formal 'negligible value list'. I got them to check if it was on their list up to today, as the web-list is only updated at the end of each month. ARX isn't yet on their internal list for January.

I think, we can include the capital loss on our tax return for tax year 06-07 i.e. the one that must be submitted by the end of this month. But we would need to add the comment justification that:-
1) the Aerobox plc made a regulatory release on 24/1/07 that "the prospects of any returns for shareholders of ARX[Aerobox] are likely to be minimal" [source: RNS]

2) Aerobox's only asset (a US subsidary - ACS) entered Chapter 11 on 23/1/07, when "the Judge declared that the equity interests of Aerobox plc are expunged, determined, retired and effectively wiped out and of no value". [source: the subsidary's CEO]

3) Aerobox made a further regulatory release on 15/3/07 that "there is very little prospect of any return to ARX[Aerobox]" from its only asset (a US subsidary - ACS) [source: RNS]

4) Aerobox filed for the company to be dissolved in November 2007.

Incidentially, once the shares were suspended, does anyone know how someone shorting ARX can close their short, and thus realise their profit? Afterall, once shares are suspended, nobody can buy or sell them. So how can a shorter buy shares, to close his shorts, in such circumstances?

Just an academic question.

Good evening everyone....back from the Hungarian Hills.

Ref: The Watermark commission shortfall of approx £0.4m.

It would appear that the only way this could be related to Arx....is if the following had taken place.

1/ The commission was related the the Middle East airline 5yr long term supply contract....announced on 20th Oct 2005....with deliver planned....in first six months of each year.

2/ That to achieve a good price for the ULD units over those 5yrs....all monies.i.e. the total contract price of $6m....were paid upfront to Arx.

3/ At approx 10% commission on overall contract....Watermark would be set to receive approx £0.4m.

4/ Due to quality problems with first years`s batch...delivered between Jan and June....the whole contract....under the initial agreement terms could be terminated....hence Watermark would not receive all the £0.4m they were expecting in this financial year.

So hypothetically all of this....1/ to 4/....would have had to have taken place IMHO....for it to have been directly linked to Arx ULD`s....otherwise as mad mike pointed out....there is no way....a commission figure of £0.4m....could have been earnt by Watermark....through Arx contracts....while the new Arx FD also seems to have confirmed in an e-mail....that no Arx ULD orders have been cancelled....or reduced....by Watermark....so the chances of 1/ to 4/ having really happened....appear very slim.

Although it is interesting that Arx....have in fact....already highlighted some new "quality" issues....in their Final Results statement of the 18th May 2006....saying that on making investigations....there were damage issues relating to Al extrusions....used in the box frame construction....rather than damage to the Aeroplaz material itself....so whether these are the "quality issues" giving concerns to the Watermark board....without third party confirmation of the "real" facts....Arx investors are for the moment....none the wiser.

The alleged comments of the new Arx FD....relating to "quality" issues being general Watermark matters....do give some Arx investor reassurance....but more specific information from Arx concerning this matter....in the next RNS....would help to clear the obvious confusion....that has unfortunately been generated....by Watermark`s recently stated misfortunes....being in part down to air cargo container commission shortfalls.

(The separate reference....to a further £0.6m shortfall....made also in Watermark comments....appears to be related to a bad debt issue....with one of Watermark`s own agents....and in no way connected to any Arx issue).

Going forward....Arx investors should now be hoping....that the enthusiasm generated by the comments made in the new FD appointment RNS....can be shortly be reinforced....by more new orders....either ULD or non-ULD....and by Arx management clarification of the ULD order situation....through the Watermark connection....DYOR.
