27/10/2016 08:40 | LOL - OT weak holders - there will be many more of those after the dividend imo. If AEO were picking up valuable business they would be wise to shout about it rather than leave the share price struggle where it is - no they said business was rocky, so not very positive at all. Please do not give me the line that "the directors are not concerned about the sp" - if not they should be, because it reflects upon them. | clocktower
27/10/2016 06:46 | ramas, I may have difficulty getting to the AGM myself due to a hip fracture making facing the trains inadvisable. The mm's seem to want the share price higher but weak holders are selling out holding it back. But I'm reassured that the weak holders are limited by the number of free shares whereas the buyers are unlimited (in theory) Hence a rise is only a matter of time now all the numbers are out. With the markets are being caught out by the Brexit (talk of the FTSE at 4800 was wrong) so there's no reason that AEO can win business from the weak sterling. | old thumper
26/10/2016 21:23 | OT will you make the agm ? Unfortunately I have an unavoidable prior engagement so will be unable to make it this year | ramas
22/10/2016 06:06 | What with the Russian Navy in the English channel and the Putin sniffing around the White House I may ask for another Special Dividend before it's too late. | old thumper
20/10/2016 08:44 | Many a true word said in jest OT. Do not be surprised if the Putin/Trump ticket wins the race to the White House. Putin has walked all over the Yanks and is causing them to buckle down to his way or risk that war you talk of. All the talk of women not voting for Trump could be found to be flawed.Women vote for Men or Counties would have their Parliaments/Congress filled with women rather than men. There are more women able to vote than men as they live longer. All news media lean the way of their staff and they all try to influence their readers/viewers the way they desire - revolution is around the corner due to the great rich/poor divide. Look what happened to David Cameron, having drummed up the support of all the failures from around the world -(including the President of the USA) to support and try to bully the British people. Beware there is a very serious dark side. :-) Conspiracy: | clocktower
20/10/2016 04:43 | CT, Make you right, hxxp://www.lseg.com/ Rule 12 excludes revenue. So once more AEO is honest as they come, phew! clearly not one of Trump's Corp :-) Talking of Trump just another 20 days until the nuclear war. I better start spending the dividend. | old thumper
19/10/2016 15:19 | It seems few companies follow the rules OT, and it is very rare to see anyone of them ever get a tap on the hand, regardless how often certain companies mislead PI`s, or for actions taken by their major investors when they fail to follow the rules about holdings etc. Regulation of AIM is just window dressing as complaints are ignored by the Taker Over Panel.Everything is a secret as far as they are concerned. I was not aware that this company had broken any rules and if so I guess it must have been in error and not intentionally imo. | clocktower
18/10/2016 13:16 | Sums it up beautifully OT. | michaelmouse
18/10/2016 13:12 | CT, No doubt if you found a fiver you'd be cheesed off as wanting a tenner! (Probably goes for me as well) MH brought in at 10p so is he going to tuck himself up by a buyout, also SQ has options at 16.5p One day the world will find AEO but unfortunately AIM investors are only keen to lose money on dry wells or naff drugs rather than companies that make money and pay dividends. And our worse AIM fundamental is that the Chairman is honest in his comments, not like the others who make huge claims for the future whilst asking for more money from the shareholders. Chill out and wait until our day comes. Got to go, another dividend to spend :-) | old thumper
18/10/2016 11:33 | Regrettably this time I think it will need that big buffer of cash as they will need to fund a sales drive outside the UK - with the risk that they find the going tougher across the water than on home ground.Let alone make decent profits from any new business which by nature is likely to be more tricky and harder to please, if they have to promise the stars to attract the custom. As you say ramas it has been a good place to sit cash over the past years if you purchased the stock at or below current levels but many investors will have paid a lot more and as much in the high 70/80p as short a time ago as 2014. Those dividends since that time would not have even covered the loses on the sums invested. That trend looks likely to continue unfortunately if the outlook remains as "Rocky" as they suggest in the last RNS. If the share price falls enough they might be tempted to take it private I guess. | clocktower
18/10/2016 11:06 | How long have we been discussing earnings visibility .... 3-4 years , in that time we have enjoyed soon to be 15 p of dividends or in region of 10% . At some point you either believe the management or move on .... this isn't a perfect stock but it's a profitable business with a huge buffer for the odd bad year .... | ramas
18/10/2016 09:43 | OT - They still cannot provide any Forecasts - all they say is that it will be Rocky over the next six months, and bearing in mind there is little over two months left of that six months, work must be very thin on the ground I suspect. It seems like a few smaller holders have started to sell and not wait for the dividend as I suspect they like myself are expecting this to drop more than the 2p after ex-dividend date on 3rd Nov. Easy to talk about the "Rest of the World" but getting business in this sector will be another thing, unlike manufacturing it will not benefit from the drop in the value of the Pound. Only one MM left bidding 28p. | clocktower
15/10/2016 05:51 | I like the figures showing the rebalance towards the "Rest of the World" customers (section 2) just exactly what we should be doing in the Brexit world. | old thumper
15/10/2016 00:51 | Net cash of 1.261m or 15p per share , debt free PE of 10 that's 35p share price, or with cash netted out you have a price today of 15pence. To get to CTs 20p level excl cash you are valuing AEO at about £400K or a PE of 1.4 !! This company has a huge discount based on the earnings visibility question. I suspect we will see another surprise dividend during the year and there is still a buffer good enough for 3 bad years. I think my dividend take is almost a free carry now .... I've lost count of the dividends. We may see 25p ex dividend which I suspect will be a perfect time to think about buying .... if you are able to cope with the earnings volatility. | ramas
14/10/2016 09:02 | Well done OT - Yes it has been a great performer for most of us, showing great returns over a number of years but sadly those days seem to be over - from the day they appointed SG with talk of a five year plan, and since they booted him, the chart moved from a northerly direction to a southerly one. What did they ever have to say about what the five year plan was? It has seemed to me that they have only been able to plan ahead as far as the next client allows them too. Holders that are looking for growth will need to look elsewhere imo. What is going to support the share price after the dividend has been paid, bearing in mind the statement that has been made with this report? I bet you cannot sell many at the bid of 29p now and the 2p dividend will be swallowed up with a few sells - let the trend be your friend. | clocktower
14/10/2016 08:47 | You've talked of 20p for ages but had you had brought and with the divi's you'd be there already. Not trying to be clever but I brought mine years ago so the divi's have paid off my costs. | old thumper
14/10/2016 08:41 | LOL - OT He`s got your number OT and like waiting for sub 20p here it is only a waiting game - he can be certain of that you will come his way but will he outlast you? :-) | clocktower
14/10/2016 08:36 | CT, My friend's business is always losing customers and he's the richest bloke I know. He's a funeral director :-) | old thumper
14/10/2016 08:32 | 14 years on the AIM, making a profit, paying a dividend, somewhat of a record, most AIM companies go bust or just continually having placings to pay the board's salaries. Perhaps we should be on the main market where similar companies are found. | old thumper
14/10/2016 08:29 | Mistake was that 3p Special Dividend:Disappointi The worry is item2. Revenue and segment information Only FOUR Customers provide more than 50% of turnover: If the top two pulled the plug where would that leave the business? A huge concern and something that needs to be addressed. No wonder they are saying it could be rocky!! BEWARE!!! Still plenty of cash in the bank but that could disappear if a couple of customers pulled. SP supported by dividend but after it has been paid what then? | clocktower
14/10/2016 08:20 | Yes, reasonable year. Strong balance sheet still. Income stock for me. 2p dividend plus the option to pay another special dividend assuming trading continues to generate cash. | michaelmouse
14/10/2016 08:16 | Earnings will always be lumpy in this business , some holders may not appreciate this fact. For me a an ok year | ramas
14/10/2016 07:40 | Fairly stable year, it would be nice to see some of the options being exercised. Slight increase in staff must be positive. Over to CT, no doubt :-) | old thumper
13/10/2016 18:04 | CT that's not you bottling it is it ? | ramas |
