So that was our seller who came to the aid of the MMs yesterday afternoon. Who is he anyway? Should be another RNS for the buyer who took a couple of Million on Monday and close to 3 Million on tuesday morning.

Don't know much about ELLE other than what's in the finals but as you've said on another site with 16/17 stores by March 04 its begiining to establsih a presence and might look attractive to competitors. It's that market cap to turnover ratio thing isn't it? If it can grow turnover from 25M to 50M in 12 months the PE (as long as it isn't negative) is less important than the brand name. (IMO)

As far as I can see, the only director with a substantial holding is the Chairman DM Brock, and he only has just over 1m shares (1.5%). Large holders listed in Refs are: Martin Lent 15.6% Ted Baker (Jersey) Ltd 13.5% Hatzioannou Hdngs SA 10.7% Susan A Tisdall 4.76% M Benjamin 4.51% Oakdown Ltd 3.56% Universities Superannuation Scheme 3.27% Refs is not comprehensive, so there may be others. Question is, are they just shuffling shares amongst themselves, or is there some purpose to it? We should know in a day or two.

I'm assuming the 2x1M yesterday were buys - had to be because they were above mid. The 2x1M this morning also buys. I don't think this is a P&D because even finding a seller to dispose of 4.5M hasn't calmed things down. I'm guessing the buyer still wants more.

Whoever's selling is certainly making them pay for it. Must be an RNS soon.

MMs did well to get the 4.5M sells to cover a similar amount of buys else price would have shot up considerably higher. Another tick up suggests the big buyer ain't done yet. More tomorrow or an RNS. Wonder how long they spent on the 'phone/knees to get some stock back?

Lol, Jeff_V. There's definitely something up. Now 9m shares traded today (by 2:20 PM). That makes 18m shares traded so far in October (about 15 times the average of recent months). There are only 65m shares in issue. Either someone's bailing out, or someone's piling in. The dramatic rise in the price suggests the latter.

Actif Gp, designers and retailers of leisure and sports-related products, is a tiddler which may be beneath the attention of many readers of these boards. There are, however, a couple of interesting things about it. It has restructured, and appears to be recovering after a couple of bad years. House brokers Seymour Pierce are forecasting earnings per share growth of 96% this year and 36% next. Ted Baker, another retailer, holds 13.5% of the shares. And the price has been rising strongly on exceptionally heavy volume. 3.8m shares (6% of the total in issue) have been traded this morning alone, causing the price to rise another 12%. Something seems to be up: I don't quite know what, but it looks as though it may not be bad news for holders. I've bought a few, and await events.

Check out NWD for a quick profit. MMs obviously short of stock, worth buying a few for a quick 20% gain.

Are you still waitng, seeing, sitting on your hands whilst your shares go lower and lower?? If yes, then act now!! You have three options: a: Add in order to average down, and then sell making a profit. b: Sell all, or part of holding c: Do nothing and hope that the stock market returns to highs, which I doubt! Your choice girls!!
