Active Energy inks partnership for logging operation at Lumberton
Chief executive Michael Rowan described the new venture as “another important milestone” and highlighted that it gives the company a complementary revenue stream.

Lumber / logs in a stack
More blue sky for the Lumberton project
Active Energy Group PLC (LON:AEG) has inked a joint venture agreement with Renewable Logistics Systems LLC which sees the AIM-quoted firm enter the saw logging export market.

Renewable Logistics Systems is a supplier of saw-logs, pulpwood and wood chips and together the companies will form a new vehicle, called Renewable Energy Systems (RES), which will manage logistics and saw-logging exports from the Lumberton property.

Active Energy will initially own a 30% stake in RES with a right to increase its stake to 49%, after it has established a 50 tonne per hour CoalSwitch plant (expected before the end of next year).

RES will manage the material handling within Lumberton for AEG along with transportation services, such as the delivery of product to customers.

It is estimated that the RES operation will process some 200-500 containers of saw-logs for the export market per month, which would equate to 5,000-15,000 square metres of product per month.

The company noted that forestry waste products from the Lumberton operation will provide feed for pelletised fuels, including CoalSwitch.

Active Energy chief executive Michael Rowan described the new venture as “another important milestone” and highlighted that it give the company a complementary revenue stream.

“It establishes an additional source of feedstock supply for the production of pelletised fuels, and importantly accommodates all the near-term logistics requirements for Lumberton for the supply of existing and new pelletised renewable fuels to customers,” Rowan added.

"Revenue from the JV will be utilised for the future development of Lumberton and further demonstrates the value of our new operational centre, as it provides valuable commercial opportunities for the company through being an industrial hub located strategically in the heart of America's forestry industry."

It does annoy me about how much time the BoD have wasted..this has diluted shareholders.
I might well have bought in last month but it still annoys me

I am glad they got a good hiding at the AGM. They have wasted valuable time and coals switch was supposed to be already commercialised at the 5T UTAH plant. This was their
first commercial CoalSwitch(TM) plant. All that big hooraa came to nothing then

Now the plant is in Lumberton..this quarter is critically pivotal.

I just listened to the podcast....the whole Co is relying on this quarter. I am still overly enthused by Rowland, lets ee if can deliver the talk for once.

If it goes well..I can see the 50T plant being financed by a mix of Royalty/JV/debt/equity

I think it really is make or break.

If the 5t plant runs effectively and they can prove their product then great.... the pig in the poke moving on from there are the 1000,s of tonnes orders subsequent to a 50t plant being made. This needs to be pipe and slippers in the arm chair for quite a while I think for a price escalation past 8p

Just reflecting on the top line of the header... with an inner sigh, but also fresh hope for the prospects to come.

"Thread open at 3.8p Market Cap £33m. Options granted at 4.5p and 8.5p Feb 2018"

It will be a 500% increase to return to that market cap, a 900% increase to hit that first options threshold and more than 1500% increase to hit the second options threshold.

Onwards an upwards?

The 0.535's are all buys - so I reckon trades are about even on buys and sells. A market being made by wiggling the tree?

Just been for a lovely dog walk with my youngest son. We came back with sticks for the BBQ and a lb of blackberries to cook up with some apples from our tree. Happy days.
