06/8/2018 19:44 | If you look at the returns for the last 6 and 12 months , they have been rather poor, so maybe this is Baron's reasoning. | ![]() stmartin
06/8/2018 08:45 | Does anyone know John Baron's reasoning for sell? This still seems a sound long term growth and income investment to me. Possibly a buying opportunity!! | ![]() skyblue65
05/8/2018 21:29 | Possibly because John Baron portfolios announced a sell on the 3 August from their portfolios . I assume several investors were then selling with few buyers in the market . So a case of sellers far utstripping the number of buyers | kimptonplace

10/3/2015 10:47 | ASCH is 3.2% and AIF is 4.2% but ASCH is on a slightly wider discount to NAV with lower gearing. | ![]() davebowler

16/2/2015 17:00 | zero dividend preference shares act as leverage on the quoted share price magnifying gains and losses in the NAV. At expiry they must be paid back which in Acorns case would reduce the size of the fund. It can create a bit of mess if things start to go badly but the existence of ZDP go some way to explaining Acorn outperformance in the past and dividend yield. I would expect a new issue and there is the security of the bond holdings so on balance OK. | ![]() gopher
16/2/2015 15:17 | gopher, I have been picking up a few AIF recently, and they look oversold. I have been a long-term holder of JIGI, and they are now just under two years away from wind-up. On a projected dividend flow of seven quarterly payments of 1.1p, and meeting the final NAV, there is a 16.9% return. The NAV is currently covered 1.1x. There is some gearing in place, so bear that in mind. | ![]() tiltonboy
16/2/2015 14:18 | GopherCan you explain the issue you raise re the ZDPs please as still learning? Thanks | stevebarrett86 |
