i dont know about any shenanigans but this time its the shareholders who are getting their finger chopped off.

ive held these shares since 2018, through thick and thin - never would imagine the whole thing would be pawned off to a portugese company for a song.

Why would you accept 38p if the market is currently offering 38.6p.
You would sell into the market until the price went below 38p, then take the offer of 38p on any remaining.
LO have accepted 38p unless a rival bid is 10% above 38p

I would of been disappointed by a 50p bid considering margins would of been in the high teens after the mill had been built.
By accepting an offer of 38p the board has lost my confidence. Either they were not acting in my best interests or there is a problem in achieving the goals they have set.

The only alternative I can think of is that there is something nasty in the woodshed which the b/o co. are aware of and are able to deal with and the sale will get the directors off the hook.

I wonder how close the acceptances are to making this deal irrevocable. I didn't realise that a holder can say that they are making an acceptance but that subject to no higher bids. So not really an acceptance at all.

You do wonder why the BOD have been so passive ; are they being promised big bonuses or golden handshakes? Why would they readily accept such an underwhelming offer?

This is getting interesting, now that you can sell above the Navigator Company S.A. offer price. They can't now buy shares in the market but some obviously are buying above the 38p. The offer could well fail at this rate.

a CFD at 38p is interesting !

i understand the point re profit taking, however, the share price was 38p in january.

as large shareholders you would expect them to engage with the company and hold out for a better offer - i would love to do so but my position is small. Selling down stakes now reduces your negotiaion position and effectively invalidates your arguement.

Both Norges and Schroders are taking some profits and leaving some chips in the game knowing they can take 38p in the next 3 months if the deal goes through or sell at a higher price if another bid comes in.

its surprising to see norges and shroeders to sell down some of their stakes, you would think they would persue a more fair priced offer for their constituents.

SAMSON can not be associated with Navigator if they are paying above 38p.

If Samson buy 1,050,000 @ 38.1p then worst case scenario they sell to Navigator for 38p and they lose £1,050. Any counter offer has to be +10% above 38p (41.8p). Profit then on the 1,050,000 would be £40k.

Samson average price is 37.9856p
Profit on the 14.75m would be more than £560k+ for a 10% counter offer.

It will be interesting to see if Samson remained buyers today, or who else is buying above 38p
