Amazing that the shares can go from 290p to 400p with results in line and an unchanged outlook. Efficient markets theory? Ebeneezer had it right - humbug!

Encouraging that Aberforth Partners LLP have increased their total holding from 3,150,000 shares to 3,360,000 shares (12.72%).

Interim results out today. Seem no nasty surprises contained threin and maintained interim dividend of 7.2p ensures these shares yield well in relation to current price.

Looks to be flying now that £230k sale is out of the way. Perhaps the results aren't going to be bad at all. It is only a couple of months since the in line trading update. Looks like good timing for you, MRP.

Probably. The 26.42m is shares in issue. One of the others may be shares in crest. Shares on loan is usually represented as a % of each of those, and maybe as an absolute number. Does it show you column headings?

I hadn't looked at the trades. All small in a short space of time often occurs in a shorting attack. You're a paid subscriber MRP. Do you have access to the loan data. Crest loan data is on the "charts and research" drop down at the top of the page, if you pay enough.

Yes you are probably right, but I just wonder how many more buys there may have been on a day where it looks like only sells! My tiddly purchase of 500 obviously won't make any difference, but a few more could have done and in any case the fact that only sells were going through does make it all look extremely negative.

Happens to me quite frequently in better traded shares. If bought by a traditional broker, they sometimes aggregate the trades.

I see Acal have today issued a pre-close trading statement and have announced the purchase of the remaining stake in Computer Parts International Limited in October.

Remuneration report was passed by less than expected for most companies. I shall look again.

EDIT - nothing jumps out. Is £358k and £238k with bonus, pensions and benefits too generous for executives of an international company turning over £250m? There is a potential performance bonus of £250k between them annually - they got £36k between them this year in the above. They have a few 100k options but mostly around £5 and little "in the money". Doesn't seem unreasonable.

The employers' body said that a balance of 13 per cent of firms thought export orders would rise over the following three months, up sharply from a reading of 2 per cent at the time of the last quarterly survey in April.

Ian McCafferty, the CBI's chief economic adviser, said: "The recent improvement in the fortunes of UK manufacturers has continued to be led by exports and the strength of global demand. If the expectations of UK firms for the near term are met, growth in export orders will rise further, to the fastest rate in a decade."

TTG just given notice of results with a healthy update that says trading results ahead of last year and in line with expectations.
