In Kazakhstan, CanArgo currently owns interests in the proven Kyzyloy Gas Field, and in large exploration areas in the western part of the country close to the Aral Sea.

The first of the five exploration wells (AKK103) planned on the Akkulkovsky area has reached TD and wireline logs indicate the presence of gas bearing sands in the well. Casing has been run and the well suspended for a planned production test in late September, as part of a broader testing program including wells on the Kyzyloy Field. The rig is now being moved to the next location (AKK105), and it is planned to mobilise a second drilling rig to accelerate the exploration / appraisal program.

Keep this philosophy in mind the next time you either hear, or are about to repeat a rumour.

In ancient Greece (469 - 399 BC), Socrates was widely lauded for his wisdom.
One day the great philosopher came upon an acquaintance who ran up to him
excitedly and said, "Socrates , do you know what I just heard about one of your students?"

"Wait a moment," Socrates replied. "Before you tell me I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test."

"Triple Filter?" asked the acquaintance.

"That's right," Socrates continued. "Before you talk to me about my student let's take a moment to filter what you're going to say. The first filter is Truth.

Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?"

"No," the man said, "actually I just heard about it."

"All right," said Socrates . "So you don't really know if it's true or not.

Now let's try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my student something good?"

"No, on the contrary ..".

"So," Socrates continued, "you want to tell me something bad about him, even though you're not certain it's true?".

The man shrugged, a little embarrassed.

Socrates continued." You may still pass the test though, because there is a third filter - the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my student going to be useful to me?"

"No, not really .."

"Well," concluded Socrates , "if what you want to tell me is neither True nor Good nor even Useful, why tell it to me at all?"

The man was defeated and ashamed.

This is the reason Socrates was a great philosopher and held in such high esteem.

It also explains why he never found out that Plato was having an affair with his wife!

Hi Steve - We still can't sell our worthless shares. Shame really.

Got a new lady - Fantastic, 12 years younger than me and only a size 8 :-). Screwing rather than getting screwed. May kill me but it's a nice way to go.

Seeds is still hyping ACA; Moni had to try to set him straight again

Meanwhile, I am curious if there is any significant action against the ACA schemers? Is Cedric the Pig likely to take a fall for any of the Dirt coming out against ETG? What about the other guys -- Helvert, Catto et al?

Seeds, don't misrepresent Moni's position

Moni has already said that a significant difference maker for long stranded gas assets is whether the passage of time has changed market conditions and whether assets are in hands who are financially capable of investing in infrstructure required to "unstrand" them.

The FACTS are that Moni called the problem correctly in the late 90's that the 1551 and Kyzyloy assets were a problem from AIPN and ACA respectively. You are a fool if you are not willing to acknowledge that was a good call.

Now Moni sees the early signes of the market conditions in Kaz changing for these small gas assets. Plus in the case of 1551 and Kyzyloy, both appear to be in the hands of stronger parties.

But even so, the jury is still out. In the case of CanArgo, they have yet to prove they can do anything economically sound. They tried to make Kyzyloy progress sound encouraging, but you failed to acknowledge this was only a small part of an otherwise very very discouraging news release for investors.

And oin the case of 1551, the summer is near over and I think there is as of yet no confirmation that anything significant has happened at 1551.

Moni has said it for years -- AIPN and ACA investors aren't likely to benefit from either asset. Except for superfical carried interests, ACA holders and AIPN holders no longer have a meaningful stake. CNR may still be worth a look. Moni sold out of CNR a long time ago at a 300% gain. After the recent news CNR stock plunged -- it dropped nearly 20% after Thursday's news -- it may be worth getting in again if the price drops much lower. Moni may buy if CNR drops further -- perhaps under 60 cents US.
