24/4/2013 10:52 | Crystal Amber picking up some more I see. (That makes 700k in the past two months) | calahan
12/4/2013 16:10 | Cheers for the link BrokertoBroker. Nice find that! | calahan
12/4/2013 12:30 | That's fantastic news - thanks for the link. They must be seeing strong demand. | sirgainalot
12/4/2013 12:03 | API Foils Set to Grow! Encouraging bit of press. Good to hear that this expansion will satisfy demand by significantly increasing the total plant output. With holographics improving as well, I really can't see any downside...... | brokertobroker
03/4/2013 13:41 | Great Company, my reasons for buying: Great niche products with a range of applications; Plenty of product diversification and sells in 9 countries; Very sticky client base; A modest pension scheme with yearly liabilities of c £7m so no problems there; Increasing health high single digit operating margins; Revenue, EPS and PBT increasing YoY with net debt declining; A large proportion of sales come from outside the UK (60%) so the weak sterling should help; Trades on a PE of 6 which looks cheap; Board rejected a 90p a share offer; Management has strongly hinted at paying a dividend which would yield 5.5% at current levels possible announcement at next set of results; 60% of equity held by long-term holders not wanting to sell; Hargreave Hale are hunger for more shares at 60p. I really can't see any downside - BUY, price target 105p by dec 13!! | brokertobroker
26/3/2013 19:03 | Interesting action today. Mainly sells but price never flinched at all. Im guessing something is lurking in the background. | horndean eagle
20/3/2013 16:08 | Good move today. Looking to fill the gap :) | sirgainalot
08/3/2013 21:22 | Thank you UK220 for your kind explanation of "open discussion". It helps me understand the English Language used by your big bosses. So, "Open discussion" actually means "Secret discussion" (!) as far as us Underling small investors are concerned. And it also means "Private discussion" as far as wealthy Hedge Fund investors are concerned. But I am still confused as to their language: How is it that when I have both a Secret and Private discussion, I close the door for the discussion -not leave it "open" as the bosses of API clearly promised ? | coolen
08/3/2013 13:01 | No. we are the underlings who will not be included. the discussion will be between the honchos of API and whoever gives them the best deal for them. we will find out after the deal is dealt, and be told there was no other option. | ukinvestor220
08/3/2013 12:09 | ".....the Board remains focused on maximising shareholder value and committed to maintaining an "open" dialogue with shareholders about how best that can be achieved." What, please, do they mean by "open" ? Does it mean we are all kept in touch with what may now be discussed between API and the hedge funds who started this bidding process ? | coolen
08/3/2013 11:41 | MMs keen for stock today | ukinvestor220
01/3/2013 16:07 | I still haven't made my mind up on this one, any thoughts on why the directors haven't picked up any stock if they were so convinced that the approaches significantly undervalued the company, suggested prices must have been a long way above current levels. | spooky
01/3/2013 13:13 | crystal amber increased holding here >10% | ukinvestor220
27/2/2013 14:29 | sp seems to have stabilised around the 56 level however I am not tempted until I see the next update, I am a little concerned about the last forward looking statement. | salpara111
15/2/2013 12:23 | He basically says that shares are now undervalued despite the weaker trading update and he is holding for recovery back to his buy price of 70p. | speedsgh
15/2/2013 11:43 | What does it say,buy, sell or hold ? | spooky
15/2/2013 11:39 | There is an update today on API in Simon Thompson's column on IC website. | speedsgh
14/2/2013 15:06 | Best not to get caught out as the trader longs unwind their positions. I am keeping this on my monitor until the next update as the share price should have settled by then and we should have a better view of trading for this year. | salpara111
13/2/2013 18:01 | Wouldn't be totally surprised if some of the larger investors who wanted out might try and flip their position to one of the interested parties. They might want to get their feet under the table ahead of others. Picked up stock this morning near the lows. Happy to let the position run for a few days yet. | horndean eagle
13/2/2013 15:45 | Well, someone is obviously still keen on these. Plenty of sales going through and the bid keep ticking up. Suggestion of a hostile bid may prove to be a smart one in time. | speedsgh
13/2/2013 13:56 | might even get a hostile bid in the meantime | ukinvestor220
13/2/2013 12:14 | It is going to take quite a while for a lot of long strategic positions to unwind so realistically the share price is not going anywhere for probably 3 months which is fine as that will allow them to get another set of results out and the situation will be much clearer at that point. | salpara111
13/2/2013 10:22 | great trading range then gymfit | ukinvestor220
13/2/2013 10:03 | The ones I hold are in my pension, they can stay there. Tend to get bounces when you least expect them in these situations imo. CR | cockneyrebel
13/2/2013 09:50 | Just gone into a long term trading range of 55-65, will be a long time till the arbs unwind | gymfit |
