15/10/2012 15:59 | 265K shares just traded - a bit of large volume moving :-) CR | cockneyrebel
15/10/2012 15:03 | Close to a major breakout here imo. CR | cockneyrebel
15/10/2012 14:03 | bid tick up coming to keep the 2p spread? | sportbilly1976
15/10/2012 13:15 | Thanks. That is a nice TP mentioned on a fundamental basis as well (assuming take out and P/E based valuation). | greenroom78
15/10/2012 13:10 | Gg78, I don't usually look for a tp from a wedge.... Although......if you think of the wedge as half a triangle, then the usual formula for a breakout on those is the apex + height of the triangle when formed. so for here you could get a tp of 85p on that basis - 68.5p + (68.5-52) | sportbilly1976
15/10/2012 13:03 | Wedge on that chart is certainly getting tighter. Would expect a break soon, although not being that hot on TA does that chart give us a target price? | greenroom78
15/10/2012 13:02 | Not a lot of stock about imo - not if mm' sare moving the bid up in 0.5p moves - usually see that when they are short of stock in small caps imo. CR | cockneyrebel
15/10/2012 11:21 | nice bounce off the rising support...just 1.5p more to go until new highs... Uploaded with | sportbilly1976
15/10/2012 11:17 | A 25k buy on Friday too - perhaps a bit of action re the sale process? CR | cockneyrebel
15/10/2012 11:13 | Looking perky this morning, not long to wait now until 31st. | bigbigdave
12/10/2012 14:33 | Thanks for sharing cfro, it is an interesting article, and heres hoping that we have a number of interested parties bidding against each other. Either way I'm sure API would perform very nicely if they remained independent imo. ic2... | interceptor2
12/10/2012 13:58 | Firming on L2. Nice buying over the past few days. CR | cockneyrebel
11/10/2012 13:08 | A extremely interesting piece in this weeks Chronic Investor..... 'API in Shop Window' "Interest in API has been re-ignited after the packaging materials group, under pressure from major shareholders, confirmed it is officially up for sale. Indicative proposals must be in by the end of October and there should be plenty of interest. API first mooted the idea in February after US activist fund and 32% shareholder Steel Partners said it wanted out. Wynnefield Capital does, too. Trade buyers in Germany and the Middle East and foil makers in Asia are believed to be the most likely bidders. Even Illinois Tool works, which had an offer of around 100p a share turned down in 2005, may have another look. But activist fund Crystal Amber thinks a sale could be 'premature' and believes the shares offer upside 'well in excess of 100p'." | cfro
11/10/2012 11:56 | I suspect getting someone interested in making an offer is the hardest bit for the large shareholders nevertheless this is a great little business and there is clear value here to be had. On a simple pe basis and using conservative earnings of 9p, any potential bidder could offer 9 times, so 81p a share to existing shareholders. This would obviously leave plenty to go for and they would have access to the cash of the balance sheet too. | cfro
11/10/2012 11:19 | Just a couple of weeks to go now to see who is offering and how much | sportbilly1976
11/10/2012 09:51 | my basic knowledge was that if you go over 30%, you have to make a bid? | edwardt
10/10/2012 17:16 | yep, always had 32.4% for some time - they are the ones pushing for th business to be sold. CR | cockneyrebel
10/10/2012 16:56 | steel partners at 33%- can that be right? | edwardt
06/10/2012 10:37 | I still have my small holding here. Unfortunately I sold a couple of steady risers (DRV & AVG) prematurely, so I'm determined to hold on to these. A move to 93p as indicated by ic2 would be v. nice. | shrout
06/10/2012 10:03 | Well the chart is poised. These are much more fun when everyone is trying to buy and there isn't stock about - it will happen at some point, imo. CR | cockneyrebel
06/10/2012 09:35 | So, we managed a small tick-up right at the close. So maybe there is signs of life afterall. I agree with all the comments made and like sportbilly this is now just a waiting game. The value is clear for all to see so its a matter of getting someone interested. | cfro
06/10/2012 08:42 | sportbilly - I wish. Just a small top up with a bit of spare cash. Surprised it didn't show, never seen it with a buy before. I have seen it with a sell though. I held UNIQ a few years back and traded in and out a couple of times, each time I bought it showed on L2 and in the trade list and each time I sold nothing appeared (other than the cash). | greenroom78
05/10/2012 23:11 | gg78, I guess thats what happens when you buy a big slug at one go ;) | sportbilly1976
05/10/2012 19:12 | Aim shares are allowed up to 3 days to notify the market if the size is 3x the market size. | johnv
05/10/2012 18:44 | Welcome cfro, nice close to the day right at the end. | bigbigdave |
