88 Energy Limited (ASX:88E, AIM:88E, OTC:EEENF) (88 Energy or the Company) is pleased to

provide the following update on its ongoing flow testing operations at the Hickory-1 well within its Project

Phoenix acreage located on the North Slope of Alaska:

• Upper SFS (USFS) flow testing operations at the Hickory-1 discovery well are nearing completion.

• Results are to be announced once the flow back programme is completed and results analysed,

which is anticipated to be at the end of this week.

• Activities leading up to fracking the USFS zone took longer than initially estimated, in part due to

weather conditions, however, flow back from the USFS reservoir will conclude in the coming days

following collection of all key data and samples.

• The flow testing programme for the shallower SMD-B reservoir is scheduled to begin immediately

after the flow back of the Upper SFS reservoir is complete and is expected to last around 14 days.

As with the USFS test, the length of the program may be adjusted depending on operational

conditions.

• The program remains fully funded, with only marginal increases in duration and forecast costs

within budgeted contingency.

• Completion of operations and demobilisation from site is now expected around mid-April.

The Company looks forward to providing an update with results from the Upper SFS flow test.

It's easy to see what's happening here. Those who took part in the placing are derisking whilst still in profit. That should come to an end by Friday,if not earlier.Then the same people will help drive up the share price if flow rates are decent imo.

I guess we might have an outcome from the first flow test around the end of next week, so I’m just flagging up this extract from the 28th February RNS for the benefit of any newbies:

“Any future development plan for Project Phoenix would be expected to include horizontal wells to maximise oil rates. As is evidenced in many Lower 48 analogues, horizontal wells typically produce at rates 6-12 times higher than vertical wells, once lessons from field development are captured in the appraisal phase.


Offset exploration vertical well tests, similar to the Hickory-1 discovery well, have all flowed in the 50-100 BOPD range per test. Water to oil ratios, gas to oil ratios and the evolution of rates and pressures over time are critical data sets that assist in development planning and forecasting. It is not uncommon for formation water to be produced sustainably in conjunction with hydrocarbons in these types of reservoirs, as is often observed in producing analogues in the Lower 48. Vertical wells provide cost effective access to test multiple reservoirs in a single wellbore and are therefore the crucial first steps on the path to development of Project Phoenix resources.”

So what it seems to be saying is don’t be disappointed if we only achieve 50-100 BOPD in each flow test as we can sidetrack from each of the tested intervals to maximise flow, and this will be the plan for all future wells.

Let’s stay grounded folks. The cup and handle formation which is playing out on the chart suggests a target price of around 0.45 to 0.5 upon a positive outcome of the first flow test. If the share price can consolidate around there prior to the second flow test then we can talk about this heading to the stars, with stronger flow rates being likely owing to increased pressures at greater depth.
