Ero, the previous CEO also bought heavily near the £3 level from memory, along with some other directors at the time - will the timing be any better this time?..

Good enough for the CEO to buy at these levels, better play follow my leader, I suppose. My little deal today has brought my average down to 1.9238p. Still underwater but as these are in SIPP umbrella and am not looking to retire for another 15 years, there is a good chance that I will see an uplift in the share price.

Great work Wexboy but just highlights management failings in inability to close the gap.

Pretty unpleasant reading the finals! NAV drops over 70p per share and I guess that trend is going to continue. I had been looking to take a stake when it retested its recent lows at 170 but reckon I will wait for 150.

See how 3i stacks up vs. other alternative asset managers, and in terms of absolute value: http://wexboy.wordpress.com/2012/05/14/asset-managers-a-first-look-at-the-alternatives/ Cheers, Wexboy

Upper management tend to forget who they work for and need reminding every so often with a bit of a poke. It keeps them on task & stops them daydreaming whilst staring out the window.
