15/7/2014 07:55 | Good to see what must be a decent contract announcement this morning. Given they are only putting out an RNS on contracts of above the 1m mark,it is likely to be as they state significant. Very interesting company, enjoyed the recent meet up in Cambridge and happy to sit tight here. | hastings

23/5/2014 16:00 | mwaller 'Primary research' - you count that as attending a product briefing session run by the company and apparently being impressed by jargony phrases. Don't whatever you do: - Look at the financials (New 15 page analyst report for SPA "in profit with strong profits ahead") Er, no actually they are not in profit, but never mind. - Recognise that the growth has all come from Star-Apic - Worry that management has diluted all pre-placing shareholders by 50% - Worry that there was no growth from the original SPA business - Look at the UK OS purchase orders One key thing you don't seem to know and I don't either, is what sort of contracts have led to the growth in Star-Apic revenue. As you know, Star-Apic is not all about big data. It could just be large, but run of the mill IT contracts. So its very, very premature to assume this is being driven by big-data demands. If you actually knew that, that would be some decent research. | yump
23/5/2014 13:15 | another 301% increase in profit would be rather nice. It would only take a few decent contracts!!! | hubshank
23/5/2014 13:15 | I need to apologies. I've not visited here for a while and I note that I posted on this BB a message that was intended for another thread. Sorry peeps, it wasn't a ramp. | hubshank
22/5/2014 11:09 | Willing to be proved wrong | solarno lopez
22/5/2014 09:45 | Wouldn't just jump to that conclusion... SPA has unique protected technology that works exclusively on huge spatial datasets, including that of the US census....also now working on turning their technology on mapping internal buildings... As well as the 1edit to help keep things current. This starts to get very interesting as with this they can map every and any object anywhere in space and time and put rules and bundling processes behind it to make it not only manageable... But commercial for those firms looking to bundle specialised data packages ...This is a growing problem and opportunity and big players need answers... I just uploaded another couple links to the folder from my recent research. New 15 page analyst report for SPA "in profit with strong profits ahead" which goes into a lot of depth around the recent results and nature of future prospects and another write up in investor chronicle " 1Spatial Maps out a strong future", Both have a solid outlook and interesting supporting perspective... https://www.dropbox. | mwaller
22/5/2014 07:18 | Newspaper article - Google amasses 30b for a spree....1spa offers the platform for google to store manage edit and clean all of its data....https://www. | mwaller
15/5/2014 11:07 | This was an interesting write up from TechMarket tech industry watchers - these have not been particularly supportive of SPA strategy in past years...so this signals an interesting turning point: 1Spatial, who has undergone a major reorientation over the past year and now describes itself as a "spatial big data" software provider (see here) is starting to pull itself into shape strategically and reversed the direction of its losses. The year (to January 31 2014) was all about change and putting in the foundations for growth and while it still has a way to go the full year results are looking much better than the previous year, although acquisitions did play a significant part. Revenue was up 43% to £17.1m (including £4.7m from the Star-Apic acquisition) but importantly losses reduced. Adjusted EBITDA was up 301% to £1.1m (vs. a £0.5m loss) but even the harder loss before tax metric was much improved with the loss reducing from £4.8m to £2.2m. The 'legacy' Storage Fusion business stood out because it incurred substantial losses so the time to consider divesting this part of the operation ought to be coming closer. Geospatial data has tended to be used in specialist areas to date but with organisations exploring how they can combine data sets and ways of extracting more value, it has the potential to be more widely used which means there is growth potential for 1Spatial. Unlike ESRI it is not pegged to the public sector market but it will need to expand its partnerships to keep pace with developments in the sector which has recently seen Pitney Bowes collaborate with both IBM and SAP on separate projects. Building its network of partners is one of 1Spatial's goals for 2015 but it should ensure some of these are the major players in the software and application services sector. | mwaller
15/5/2014 00:25 | Yump remember I attended the 1spa product briefing session in London met prospects /customers and Charlie boardman and his motor bike, you should try primary research. Also don't forget this strategy was by design, and the evidence investors should be looking for that the placement and subsequent acquisition and overall direction is being executed according to the plan laid out in the prospectus. If you understand the business and the core value proposition of each of these Businesses as stand alone, and their combined unique proposition - as now, along with the platform integration efforts, this growth in the former STAR part of the business is a good forward indication that the strategy set out is well executed and working. | mwaller
14/5/2014 23:16 | Is this the stock that shareprophets have been ramping? | geheimnis2
14/5/2014 22:43 | "The fact that STAR is selling more is down to the SPA Spatial Big Data engine giving them a stronger end to end value proposition." and where do you know that from ? RNS's ? Where have the company said that ? Don't forget I was here researching before you started posting. | yump |
