412069. What's a 'globle'?! lol.
Nice bit of work shown in the RNS. But as usual these days it doesn't move the share price much. Still, nice to get the good news.

Ordnance Survey preferred bidder. OS have very close links to (the old) 1 Spatial. They are 'thought leaders' across the old commonwealth. I am aware of 1Spatial ex staff who are now with OS.

This is good news

Morning the few, anyone seem this!

Today comes news from AIM listed tech stock 1Spatial (LSE:SPA) that it has secured a major new contract win and the shares have raced ahead to 4p on the news. But the gains are not over yet and here is why.

© Image copyright n0ssc

As it happens I wrote that shares in this company were a "compelling buy" HERE just three weeks ago at 2p after a chat with CEO Marcus Hanke. At the time my BB tormentor Bob (still licking his wounds after going long of JJB when I said it was going bust as it duly did) noted:

Tom you have consistently called this wrong in terms of profits and net cash. Is this time likely to be any different?

Having tipped the shares at 3.625p in August 2010 on a site whose name we do not mention and here at 2p three weeks ago I would suggest to Bob that a) consistently wrong is not quite accurate and that b) let's hope folks followed my call not his on both 1Sparial and JJB and that c) he is a still a deranged and obsessive old coot with an addiction to factual inaccuracy. I digress...

Today's brief statement reads:

The board of 1Spatial plc the AIM quoted business technology and profit improvement specialist, is pleased to announce a five year contract has been entered into to provide a US Government Bureau with software and related services. The board believes the contract is likely to have a positive material impact on the group's results to January 2013 and beyond.

Marcus Hanke, CEO of 1Spatial plc, commented:

"We are delighted with this latest contract win. Not only does it enhance our presence and credentials in the US, but the length of the contract provides strong visibility as the Group focuses on organic growth and operating cash flow generation."

I am not altering my forecasts on the back of this. I am still looking for EBITDA of c£2 million this year and closer to £3 million next. The company has net cash of c£4 million but if it sold Storage Fusion (the noncore unit which makes a trivial contribution of sod all to EBITDA) then I reckon net cash would be anything between £7 million and £14 million.

And so at 4p the market cap is £12 million. At the bottom end of the SF sale valuation the EV is £5 million – a one year out multiple of less than 2. At the top end of the SF range the EV is MINUS £2 million.

So what is my target price? I will go for a mid range SF valuation of £7 million. And valuing core 1 Spatial on 5 times next years' EBITDA I get a s-o-p valuation of £24 million or 8p a share and with upside risk. The shares have doubled in 3 weeks. They can double again. Still a very strong buy.

1Spatial – Mega Contract win – shares have doubled in 3 weeks

No mention of the contract win on there web site, seems like they could have to keep it stum up to a certain degre, of course the LSE must be informed asap.
Interims will shed a bit more light end of month.
Looking good.

interims definitely out before the end of the month...should give us a better feel for the US contract and others...I hear things going v well indeed.

Storage Fusion isn't in for much at the moment, but if we see that the new Portal enabled SRA is selling well, then...

It just gets better and better for PIC pace micro.

Comcast Corp. (Nasdaq: CMCSA, CMCSK) has picked Pace plc as one of the suppliers for a new IP-only high-definition video client box in development called the XI3, Light Reading Cable has learned.

Because it's IP-only, the XI3 won't contain a QAM tuner. It's anticipated that the XI3 will use Comcast's new cloud-based user interface and obtain linear video from a primary gateway that can transcode QAM video into IP streams that can be shuttled to the client box via the home network.

Light Reading Cable first reported in April that Comcast was developing an IP client box called the X3. (See Comcast Sizes Up All-IP Set-Top .)

According to a source familiar with the product, the Pace XI3 is based on the Broadcom Corp. (Nasdaq: BRCM) BCM 7428 chipset, supports MoCA 2.0, and features HDMI, Ethernet and USB ports, and an option for a 802.11n Wi-Fi module. Comcast declined to comment on the project.

And what's with that SD Card slot? The XI3 doesn't have an internal hard drive, so the slot could be used for memory expansion. But it's also plausible that Comcast could use an SD Card as a local, mini-DVR that could buffer a small amount of live TV programming for trick-play functions (pause, fast-forward, rewind, etc.). Advanced Digital Broadcast (ADB) toyed with the notion of using an SD Card as a "lite" DVR for a tru2way "set-back" box it showed off in 2010. (See Tru2way 'Phantom' Box Is a DVR Lightweight .)

The XI3 is also an obvious candidate for a network DVR that Comcast is testing in the Boston area. (See Comcast Tests Network DVR in Boston .)

It's not known when Comcast plans to deploy the XI3, but it's not expected to show up until 2013 at the earliest.

The XI3 appears to be a product based on the Comcast Reference Design Kit (RDK), a bundle of software for hybrid QAM/IP gateways and IP-only clients. Comcast hopes the RDK will help cut product development cycles to a year or less. The X1, a hybrid gateway also made by Pace, is the first product to come out of the RDK project. Following launches in Boston and Atlanta, Comcast expects to deploy the X1 in at least three more major markets this year. (See Comcast's Set-Top Accelerator Gains Traction and Comcast's Cloud TV Service Rolls Into Atlanta.)

nice 65% gain so far on this one for me, but whats the get out point????

I was thinking 6-8pence, any thoughts? When we get knowledge of income from this contract it will be easier to guess size/value over 5 years etc
