TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Mar 20, 2014) - It is with heavy hearts that we, at Northfield Capital Corporation ("Northfield") (TSX-VENTURE:NFD.A) mourn the passing of Mr. William Ballard. Bill passed away on March 14, 2014. Bill served as a Director of Northfield for 13 years and also served as a member of Northfield's audit committee.

Not only was Bill a valued investor and Board member, he was a long-time friend and confidant of the entire team and especially its president, Robert Cudney.

"As a colleague, Bill was enthusiastic and courageous. He was not a man to whine when projects were faced with challenges. He was a great supporter and constant presence throughout the past 13 years as a board member and even more as a friend. His love for the mining business had its roots in his childhood love for rocks of all descriptions. He was truly excited about investing and being a part of building mines in Canada."
