School district selects Munis to streamline payroll and human resources processes

Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed a seven-year software-as-a-service (SaaS) contract with Tennessee’s Knox County Public Schools for Tyler’s Munis® enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution to replace its legacy human resources and payroll management system. The agreement includes hosting services, related professional services, maintenance and support.

School leaders wanted an easy-to-use human resources and payroll system that could track personnel-related data — from job posting to retirement. Knox County Schools sought a solution that would eliminate duplicate data sources, streamline employee onboarding and improve benefit enrollment processes while increasing reporting and employee self-service capabilities.

After a competitive review, Knox County Public Schools chose to partner with Tyler and selected various Munis applications, including human resources, payroll and content management. Tyler will provide the district with robust reporting functionality to support decision-making for principals and managers.

Knox County Government, which provides financial management services to Knox County Public Schools, also uses Munis, which will further streamline financial integration between the two entities.

Knox County Public Schools has about 9,000 employees serving approximately 60,000 students in 89 schools.
