EXPLANATORY NOTE

Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. (the “Company”) hereby amends its report on Form 6-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on August 22, 2017 (the “Original Form 6-K”) to update the redemption price of its junior subordinated deferrable interest notes (the “Securities”).

The redemption price of the Securities will be $104,435,694, which comprises the amount for the redemption of 100% of the principal amount of $103,093,000 of Securities and $1,342,694 in accrued and unpaid interest.

Except as expressly set forth above, this amendment to the Form 6-K does not amend, update or restate the information furnished on the Original Form 6-K.
