Delta Air Lines Inc. (DAL) on Wednesday said it was temporarily reducing the number of weekly flights between the U.S. and China, given "significantly reduced customer demand prompted by global health concerns related to coronavirus."
Delta said it would reduce the number of weekly flights between the U.S. and China to about 21 from the current schedule of 42. The reduced schedule will be posted on the company's website, delta.com, on February 1. The reductions will take effect Feb. 6 and will be in place until April 30, Delta said.
From Feb. 1, Delta said it will reach out to customers affected by the schedule change and work to accommodate them on alternate flights.
Delta said it "will continue to monitor the situation and may make additional adjustments as the situation continues to evolve."
