Costco Wholesale Corp. (COST) increased its quarterly dividend to 65 cents from 57 cents, and authorized the repurchase of up to $4 billion of stock through April 2023.
A previous $4 billion buyback program expired earlier this month.
Costco said the dividend is payable May 24 to shareholders of record May 10.
On April 10, Costco reported March total sales of $13.87 billion as comparable sales rose 5.7%.
In after-hours trading, Costco shares rose 1.4% to $245.23.
