TotalEnergies SE will team up with German company SARIA AS GmbH & Co. KG to develop sustainable aviation fuel, the French energy major said Monday.
The project is aimed at securing materials such as used cooking oils and animal fats eligible to produce sustainable aviation fuel, and it will enable fuel production capacity to reach 210,000 tons a year, the company said.
As part of the agreement, TotalEnergies will take 50% of SARIA's production activity supplying animal fat esters at a site in Grandpuits, France, it said.
