04/5/2024 09:47 | Entain approaches former Coral and Sky Bet chiefs in hunt for next boss Andy Hornby and Richard Flint have both been sounded out by the Ladbrokes owner as it seeks a new CEO with gambling industry experience, Sky News learns. Entain, the FTSE 100 gambling group, has been rebuffed by the former bosses of bookies Coral and Sky Bet in its hunt for a new chief executive. Sky News has learnt that Entain, which owns Ladbrokes, approached Andy Hornby, who now runs Wagamama's parent company, and Richard Flint, who holds a portfolio of roles, about the job. Industry sources said that Dan Taylor, chief executive of Flutter Entertainment's international operations, was also among the potential candidates for the role. Entain, which has been under mounting pressure from activist investors because of its poor performance, declined to comment on Friday. Money latest: Chair of major bank predicts when interest rate cut will come Last month, it said that Barry Gibson, its chairman, would retire later this year and be replaced by interim chair Stella David. The company ousted Jette Nygaard-Andersen, its former chief executive, late last year. | gambler911

03/5/2024 16:06 | If they are struggling to find someone better, they may just appoint Stella on a permanent basis. | merism
03/5/2024 15:37 | Bill Hornbuckle -- Chief Executive Officer and PresidentYes. Look, I think Stella, their new CEO, is a breath of fresh air. She's been extremely transparent, she took Adam Greenblatt, who is the CEO of BetMGM to India to get under the covers, to meet with the design development teams. So, she had him speak at a town hall about the importance of BetMGM and all that mattered and so we're excited by that.We think it's movement in the right direction, and it's something that, frankly, heretofore hadn't happened. And so, that's all affirmative and positive. Everyone is agreeing to the road map. It's an extensive road map on product development, and it's going to take some time and energy and some investment, particularly on Entain's behalf, and they're fully supportive of that. And so, yes, I think things have changed and I think for the much better.Https://www.f | bargainsniper
02/5/2024 15:05 | Barry and current management are no better than Kenny. They declined an offer almost double our share price now. Surely, if he/they knew of the impending regulatory impact, then they should have accepted the offer then??! The past is the past and the main question is where does the company performance and share price from here. Future is potentially compelling, assuming no further unforeseen risks. | macarona

02/5/2024 13:13 | Surely a 600m+ fine indicates how Entain is now paying for the 'glory days' of King Kenny. That's 150m a year(if ENT are paying as proposed over 4 years) or over 20p a year that could have been given out as a dividend. Also - for years analysts were talking about 'regulatory risk'. It didn't happen for years - now its here in a big way. Just think - how big would profits have been if the regulatory crackdown had happened 10 years ago? Sadly, going forward from here, betting companies will be less profitable than previously. Obviously. CM. | cheshiremoggie
02/5/2024 13:11 | Well he has been restricted in taking other roles in the sector due to prior actions and indeed Entain engaged lawyers to see if could recoup prior comp | shareideas1
02/5/2024 12:41 | Kenny was a cowboy riding a wave and bending rules... Entain are now paying the price for that - both figuratively and literally (ie turkey) | shareideas1
