Gotta love all that ESG investing BS from a few years back when funds didn't want to touch oil, energy and tobacco stocks.Different story now with oil stocks and high yield plays like this and IMB.I know most funds still won't touch tobacco on ethical grounds but then that's their prerogative.

Thats me full up now, buying Dec-May, nice average, keep them for a decade and see where it is then, a 10% compound return on the lot will do nicely.. :o)

Things are starting to look a bit better here now. I do not want any more as don't want too many eggs in one basket. Happy to hold and get my juicy divis whilst waiting for the re-rating

These buybacks go on until no later than 31st December 2025, I did not realise it was that long.I can't see no reason, why Bats can't be back over 3000p, 2025,Unless of course something comes out the blue and scuppers the plan.

Nothing goes up in a straight line, 2400p now support instead of resistance, slowly on our way to 2575p, just collect the massive dividends every13 weeks on the way.

Looks like a bottom could be forming... if a trend reversal is confirmed and an uptrend is established, a bullish picture could emerge...

We all want a lower shareprice to compound more over time. But nice to see it go up.

Thing for me is I want the divi reinvested over the next 4 years automatically for retirement income, also don't want the day to day trading of stocks anymore, so really and I hate to say this, I would prefer a low share price for 4 years, but I can't see that happening, and that would grate on me as well. You just can't have it all can you. I also like the divi on L&G so will do the same there to mix up the investment sectors a bit, don't want that to go up either.

Thanks Watford. I’m guessing you can only do that on the HL website and not the app?

Useful to know.

Concerted buying by Merryl Lynch

At least double the volume than that previously carried out by previous incumbent UBS

Does anyone have a figure for how much of the first tranche of the buyback has been spent so far

But looking good while the buyback lasts hope they can keep it up

You can transfer it straight away if wish to.It is only that they reinvest divis once a month rather than as soon as they receive like many.Easy to do it yourself though

HL take ten days before they transfer your divi income to your capital account. Pretty poor.

There were a few sell orders at 2400 certainly. It didn't stay there long but encouraging all the same that it's slowly getting bought more than sold at the moment.Nice to see that those invested in the ftse 100 are getting a boost right now.Makes a very pleasant change but will it last?

On way to new trading range in my view, buybacks, high dividend every 13 week. 2400p resistance level, break this, we would beon our away boys.

#Topazfrenzy, that is the name of the game here IMO, use the DRIP or take the dividends and build another position for free.. :o)

We get our dividend everything 13 weeks, these are great value in my opinion, I reckon we see new trading range 2525-2250p before next ex dividend. You know how Bats can move will a fair wind behind them and buybacks until 2025 helping our cause to get there, good luck boys.
