07/5/2024 18:54 | No buy back again? And low volume in contrast to the activity last Friday. Edit! Volume has doubled to over 9m. Usually everything has been declared by 6:30pm. | huckers
07/5/2024 10:06 | We could do with McCall and her management team of WOKEes going away for a month or two. This would then allow the ITV share price to respond to the positivity in the media sector and reflect that in a share price around 120p ;-) | tlobs2
07/5/2024 07:52 | Two top performers in the FTSE100 are both sort of media companies - (in a very broad way)..... REL PSON | netcurtains
06/5/2024 16:39 | That’s my thinking Huckers. Whilst most global investors go 4% uk I’m currently about 80% uk. I took a CETV from a DB pension in to a SIPP 2 years ago and am up 32% on it whilst being 80% uk. And I see much less risk in the stocks I’m in when compared to global equity funds that are 80% US with their overinflated prices. | 1dirtysteve
06/5/2024 16:12 | The S&P500 CAPE ratio is up at around 34. The historical median is 16. The US is either due a correction or crash or a long period of underperformance. The UK is by comparison grossly undervalued and while it is I am happy to invest selectively. | huckers
06/5/2024 16:10 | And you would have been saying that for the last 10 yearsI might tackle Ronaldo once but I know who my money would be on to score | marksp2011
06/5/2024 15:57 | But of course past performance is not necessarily a guide.... | davebowler
06/5/2024 13:49 | And replying to myself2022 had 56 billion of buybacks in the UK. Even that couldn't outweigh the serious lack of buyer enthusiasm. Dumping your beans in a global tracker got you over 20% last year. Jggi has been beating the global index for years. When you can invest in 2 ETFs or maybe 3Global equity, global bond and all commodities 70/20/10 you will have beaten UK massively over the last 7 years | marksp2011
06/5/2024 13:19 | In the technology world punters want jam today...capital growth...divi just icing on the cake...which can be subject to cut or halted... | diku
06/5/2024 12:48 | It isn't a large seller it is all the UK OIECS selling to meet redemptions. UK market liquidity is in the toilet and getting worse.8 consecutive years of outflows and 23 billion last year 14 billion in 2022.It doesn't make any difference how a company performed if there are net sellers of the stock. When I started this game I only had UK single company stocks now I have 1 ISA with 2 UK stocks in it. The rest of the ISAs are global And, 5 in my SIPP. 8% of my SIPP is UK listedIt is a conundrum. U k gets cheaper and cheaper and the global weighting gets smaller. You are really banking on a takeover. Divis are meaningless without capital growth | marksp2011
05/5/2024 14:12 | If it cant follow through in these 5 days, might as well call 56s now Big week i guess it doesnt bother the shorters and bulls at right prices. an watch it develop | institutional investments
05/5/2024 14:09 | Bit of a weird situ here. Anyway, needs to be hitting 79.9 this week. Actually, got to break it this week. Not just look at it Got to Trading sub 70.75 would kill the hope for bulls | institutional investments
05/5/2024 09:49 | Watched Netflix and was showing BBC Studios shows, wont be long before some streamer buys ITV studios | onjohn
05/5/2024 09:40 | Berkshire Hathaway’s cash pile is now $189 billion. That is more than the market cap of Shell, the UKs largest company. Interesting to note, Sunday Times headline: "Buffett's Berkshire takes an Apple slice"... I would say there is some overlap between AppleTV+ and ITV... | netcurtains
04/5/2024 19:02 | 4bn would be enough | 1dirtysteve
04/5/2024 18:59 | ITV mkt capital is only 2.89bn | bargainsniper
04/5/2024 16:38 | And for a third of that price they could have ITV! ;-) | huckers
04/5/2024 16:34 | Financial Times: Sony and private equity group Apollo have told Paramount Global they intend to make a $26bn cash offer for the entertainment company. | davebowler
04/5/2024 10:46 | I am in holidays & waiting to book another one next month with ITV dividend lol | blackhorse23
03/5/2024 21:27 | Feeling the love on this thread today... Long bank holiday incomimg May it be sunny! | geckotheglorious
03/5/2024 18:59 | That’s cos there is a large seller out there (I presume an institutional one). Every time the the price rises above 72 stock gets dripped into the market and that’s why the buyback has only had limited effect so far | greenhat67
03/5/2024 18:15 | 09 May 2024ITV Plc Trading Update - Q1 2024 | bargainsniper |
