Lots of spooky going to 4ps. Shame on you. Institutions are loving it. Apparently Institutions now have 50% of shares. Small shareholders were never meant to get this far. Sorry but bye bye...

"We have started the formal process on each of the six non-core assets, there's a high level of interest across those processes," Newmont CEO Tom Palmer said in a post-earnings call.Https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/newmont-beats-quarterly-profit-estimates-110903047.html

Calm down you old fart.

And just take a good long look who's at the bottom of this compiled list of biggest G7 gold miners,

Yup, up there with the big boys... the biggest names in the business.

Or it means there’s unlikely to be any other offers.

Because everyone knows, as will be disclosed, GGP-Wyloo can trump any final bid , thus taking 100% of Havieron - but not Telfer- that ageing, problematic asset with no ore.

So why bother?

Newcrest know Telfer is worthless and most probably unsaleable w/o Havieron.

IMO the market is being prepared for very low bid from GGP. Way too much negative narrative emerging from Telfer to justify a high price. This is being stage managed IMO.

A totally moronic, unscientific, economically illiterate, meaningless phrase "worth multiple $bns in future metal production"
Only to be expected from its source.

"As for the water management issue, whichever way you look at it, it all adds up to the same thing, a 6-12 month delay. So, we're unlikely to be mining any ore until Q3 2025 at the earliest."

Have you heard something that no-one else here has?

Re 32092: They're marking Telfer down because they now realise it will cost even more to get it into production!

I can't help but feel that Hydro is putting too much misplaced hope in this ROLR option by GGP. All it means is that we get to sit and wait until everyone has made their offers and then put in our own one. That does not mean that SD has the money to match the highest offer.

As for the water management issue, whichever way you look at it, it all adds up to the same thing, a 6-12 month delay. So, we're unlikely to be mining any ore until Q3 2025 at the earliest.

BHP bids $39 bln for Anglo American as miners target copper / Thu, 25th Apr 2024 15:45

"BHP Group bid $38.8 billion for Anglo American on Thursday, offering a deal to forge the world's biggest copper miner and driving its smaller rival's shares 13% higher.

BHP said it will offer Anglo's shareholders 25.08 pounds ($31.39) per share, a premium of 31%, and spin out its London-listed target's iron ore and platinum assets in South Africa, where BHP, the world's largest listed miner, has no activities.

Copper prices on the London Metal Exchange have surged 15% this year on expectations of higher demand given encouraging economic data, U.S. rate cut bets, speculative trading and supply bottlenecks driven by the December shutdown of one of the world's largest open-pit copper mines."

Hydrogen1 , quite the cretin , I do wish you would think before posting. What do you think is the purpose of your account? I know its to ramp but on that front you have failed miserably. How big are the losses , eyewatering ? I also understand that conspiracy theories are all you underwater clowns have left to offer so please carry on if it makes you all feel better! LOL . All the while the price keeps dropping. Filling your boots? Of course not. LOL LOL .

Well that sale didn't take too long. Maybe its commitment to delivering at least $2-billion in near-term cash improvements through portfolio optimisation selling Havieron along with Telfer soon could yet again be a step in delivering on the commitment.

Leading gold miner Newmont has finalised the sale of a stream credit facility and offtake agreement for the Fruta del Norte gold mine, in Ecuador, to Lundin Gold for $330 million.

rainyRain - agreed. The water problem may not be resolved; and looks as though many Aussies know this.

I posted on this c7days ago and some drongo immediately rebutted without any evidence whatsoever. I have no evidence either; just an obvious concern re the silence... and the falling sp!

I have no feelings Arthur, It's just a ticker. Price is what you pay, value is what you get. 30% of Havieron is worth multiple $bns in future metal production.

The question stands Arthur. What is the purpose of your account Arthur? Since you are the great uninvested...?

Hydrogen1 calm down, it's only money right? And you claim to be loaded , LOL. I have stated more than once that I have a buy in price, it just hasn't got there yet. Then I might have a buy but frankly I keep readjusting the buy in price lower. How much are you underwater to be this upset? Jacques Cousteau levels eh chum?!
