lucas5950 - IQE takeover theories are as old as the hills. And they've never come to anything.

If anyone was seriously contemplating this, they'd have bid last autumn when the share price was under 14p.

It aint gonna happen IMHO.

With IQE unique placement in the market, surely it’s being looked at for an acquisition?

Positive Outlook is insufficient to warrant a valuation above 300 millions, which is the current market cap.
We need to see new contract wins, at this point I don't even care if IQE has to weather another year of statutory losses as long as we can see there is a sizable market for their semiconductors.

crosswires - not sure it's down to irregular news flow.

More, that traditionally a lot of IQE's news has been bad. And the company's still not forecast to move into profit this FY.

I could never understand why the share price rose so much after 10th April results. And I said repeatedly at the time that I thought this was unsustainable. I maintain that view, though on a 2 year timescale I expect things (including the share price) to have significantly improved.

Important for the short term that we hold on to resistance over 26p. Ideally over 27.0

Disappointing we haven’t managed to consolidate but unsurprising as this isn’t a stock with regular news flow.

Anyone who writes 'of' when they mean 'have' deserves to be filtered imo.

Whilst the filter button has its uses, it doesn't always pay to close your eyes (& mind) to those whose opinions you happen not to share.

There's always the chance they could be right - at least some of the time.

Lord operational gearing can be guesstimated from the financial statements.
All your points are very valid and I agree with all of what you said in your latest post.

Guildedge - if there were “Lots of conversations being had in the background”, how exactly would you be privy to them?

Also, you say: “After 182m pretty much all their admin costs should of been paid for so profits would rise quickly”.

I’m not sure that’s quite the case. Whilst IQE certainly has a high fixed cost base, there’s an element of variable costs & overheads too, which will rise in line with sales.

You would expect IQE to smash these figures if things go well. Lots of conversations being had in the background

Sally, what the CEO says is irrelevant when backed up by his gut feeling.

Seems Barclays have totally ignored Americos 3x revenues proclamation ;) Do they even see £200m by 2027?

Now predicting 182m for 2026 with a 2.03m loss. After 182m pretty much all their admin costs should have been paid for so profits would rise quickly.

crosswires - even when analysts do “serious research”, it often bears no relation to the eventual outcome. I ignore them all.

At least when you rely on your own research, you know it’s not all based on vested interest &/or hidden agendas.

Numis was a reiteration only so there appears to be no serious research done by them to support the target share price which is probably why the market ignored it.

My advice: forget analyst reports - they're woefully unreliable.

Instead, just go with your own research & gut instinct.

If anyone has access to the actual Numis report would be interesting to read what basis they have laid out for 55p, re revenues.

First broker rating in a while from Numis at 55p.

Volumes were always going to fall back after the results. Did the share push past what market think is the actual value? Hard to know.

When will IQE make statutory Vs. adjusted profits? This is the question I have in my mind. I think IQE may be, or is already retracing to the low 20s. If they can post 10m net profits this will be a multibagger, that is a big IF.

Less debt, and a contract will.
