Tonya Wearner appointed to the role of US Country Manager as part of the SiS international expansion strategy
Science in Sport plc (AIM: SIS), a leading sports nutrition company that develops, manufactures and markets sports nutrition products for professional athletes and sports enthusiasts, is pleased to announce the appointment of Tonya Wearner as US Country Manager, with effect from 1 November 2016.
In her role as US Country Manager for SiS, Tonya will be a key part of the Company's strategy to develop its leading endurance sports nutrition brand in major international markets. She will be responsible for building revenues from the Company's online platform and through third party online retailers. She will develop and implement multi-media marketing and athlete acquisition strategies, as well as ensuring high levels of customer service.
Tonya Wearner has over 16 years of sales and marketing experience working with established consumer brands and has a proven track record of delivering revenue growth and profitability. Prior to joining SiS, Tonya ran her own business consultancy, advising companies on brand licensing, retail market expansion and product management. From 2011 to 2015, Tonya worked for American Recreation Products, the leading North American outdoor leisure business, as Vice President of Sales, growing revenues 183% over a four year period.
In addition to the recent launch of the Company's scienceinsport.com website in the US, SiS has recently gained listings with the world's largest online retailer Amazon.com, together with specialist online cycling retailer Competitive Cyclist.
