DIRECTORATE CHANGE

The Board of Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc (the "Company") announces that Irwin Lee, Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Company's Remuneration Committee, will step down from the Board of Morrisons with effect from August 31 2016. This follows the announcement today of his appointment as CEO of Rustan Supercenters Inc. (RSCI) in his native Philippines where he will be relocating to shortly.

Andrew Higginson, Chairman, said:

"We are very sorry that Irwin is leaving us. Irwin has impressed us all with his enthusiasm and drive, and with his extensive supplier knowledge. However, we fully understand and respect Irwin's decision to move back into a full time executive role and to relocate. We wish him and his family all the very best for the future and thank him for his contribution."

Irwin Lee said:

"I have enjoyed my time on the Morrisons Board, contributing to the turnaround and growth strategy reset. I've also enjoyed helping some of the key executives and chairing the Remuneration Committee.
