|glenowen: Anyone got access to the full accounts? If so, exactly how many of each class of shares is in issue? Trying to work out the proper market capitalisation which, at about the reported £250 million or so, seems to be based on the quoted "A" shares only.
As for GuyThomas, forget it. Such unsophisticated thinking will lead to burnt fingers. Maybe there will be a short-term downturn in the share price, but anyone who is going to dump such a solid stock as FSTA (with a fantastic portfolio of undervalued properties in London) needs their head examined. |

|ygor705: Notice that Fullers fixed assets have not been revalued since 1999. Is this also underpinning the share price? Youngs is even better...........the Ram Brewery was last revalued in 1997. Property prices in the London area have moved up a lot since then! |
Taking the company private is always an option .......... especially if the Directors/Family see a big windfall around the corner that they don't want to share with everybody else! I've always suspected Fullers of having undervalued assets in the balance sheet and South East property prices haven't been exactly static in recent years. Fullers is almost as big a property as a brewery play I suspect. Plenty of City vulture funds would trip over themselves to assist in gearing up the operation. But in the end it all depends on what the family want to do and I'm not sure how firmly they are wedded to the business these days.
Can understand why Directors want to buy back shares......it increases the future EPS line for very little effort......which makes them look good. In a thin market like Fullers it can also sustain the share price for everybody - provided the fundamentals hold up. Anyway, the price seems to be moving in the right direction at the moment on modest volumes. Let's hope the trend continues.
