European Economics Preview: U.K. Inflation Data Due

Consumer prices from the U.K. and economic confidence from Germany are the major reports due on Tuesday.

At 2.00 am ET, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association is scheduled to issue new car registration figures for December. Sales had increased 5.8 percent year-on-year in November.

At 4.00 am ET, the European Central Bank releases bank lending survey results.

Half an hour later, the Office for National Statistics publishes consumer and producer prices for December. U.K. inflation is forecast to accelerate to 1.4 percent in December from 1.2 percent in November.

Economists forecast output prices to rise 2.9 percent annually, following a 2.3 percent increase in November. Input price inflation is seen increasing to 15.5 percent from 12.9 percent.

At 5.00 am ET, Germany's ZEW economic sentiment survey results are due. The economic confidence index is forecast to climb to 18.4 in January from 13.8 in December.
