Coupons.com to Change Corporate Name to Quotient

Coupons.com Inc. said Tuesday that it would change its corporate name to Quotient Technology Inc., a move the digital discount distributor said better reflects the breadth of its business offerings.

The company's stock also will trade under a new ticker symbol, "QUOT." It currently trades under "COUP."

The change is expected to take effect later this month, the company said.

Founder and Chief Exeutive Steven Boal said the new name is a long time coming, as Coupons.com "overshadows" the company's other products and services. In addition to digital printable and paperless coupons and coupon codes, Coupons.com products include a coupon targeting and analytics platform for manufacturers and retailers, as well as online marketing campaigns for coupons.

Coupons.com will continue on as a consumer brand.

This isn't the first name change for the digital promotions company. It was launched in 1998 as StoreCoupon.com and was refitted as ValuePass before landing as Coupons.com.

Coupons.com stock was down .02% in after-hours trading Tuesday, and down 47% for the year.
