Visteon's Julie Fream to Receive Anti-Defamation League's Women of Achievement Award VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich., May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Julie Fream, vice president and general manager of Visteon Corporation's DaimlerChrysler North American customer business group, has been selected by the Anti-Defamation League as a 2005 Women of Achievement Award honoree. (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20001201/DEF008LOGO ) Fream and the other honorees were introduced this morning at a breakfast and press briefing hosted by the Anti-Defamation League. The organization will formally honor the Women of Achievement Award winners at a dinner ceremony on June 6 at the Somerset Inn in Troy. One of the foremost civil rights/human relations agencies in the U.S., the Anti-Defamation League is dedicated to fighting anti-semitism and bigotry, defending democratic ideals and protecting civil rights. This marks the ninth year that the Anti-Defamation League has bestowed its annual Women of Achievement Award. In announcing the honorees, the Anti-Defamation League's judges cited Fream as a "role model and leader with brilliant business insight" and pointed to her involvement with Visteon's executive diversity council and her role as executive champion of the Gay, Lesbian or Bisexual Employees resource group. "Julie is a role model for many people in our organization," said Michael Johnston, Visteon's president and chief executive officer. "Beyond the success she has attained as vice president of our DaimlerChrysler customer business group, she has been instrumental in fostering diversity and innovation within Visteon's culture. She is a true leader, and we are proud that her efforts have been recognized by the Anti-Defamation League." Fream was one of five women selected for the award. The others are Melba Winer, past president of the Greater Detroit Chapter of Hadassah, who will receive the lifetime achievement award; Norma Barquet, executive director, Detroit Public Schools; Lynne Deitch, shareholder/partner, Butzel Long; and the Honorable Denise Page Hood, U.S. District Court, eastern District of Michigan. Fream holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Michigan Technological University and a master's degree in business administration from the Harvard Business School of Harvard University. She serves on the board of trustees for the Michigan Tech Fund, which raises funds to support Michigan Technological University. Fream joined Visteon in 1998 as associate director, global marketing, sales and service, for the company's Ford account. She later became Visteon's director of Ford sales, charged with leading the sales activity for a $4 billion account with Ford North America. Prior to her current leadership role, she served as Visteon's vice president of marketing.
