                 Ormonde Mining plc ("Ormonde Mining" or "the Company")

                           Notification of Interests

Further to a letter received by the Company dated 18 December, 2003, Ormonde
Mining has been advised that Gartmore Investment Limited, Gartmore Fund Managers
Limited and Gartmore Global Partners have increased their reportable interests
in the share capital of the Company under section 67 of the Companies Act, 1990
of Ireland by virtue of a purchase of 1,000,000 Ordinary Shares of nominal value
Euro0.025 each on 16 December, 2003.

Following this purchase the respective interests are as follows:
