Home Entertainment Corporation PLC (the "Company")

Notifiable interest

The Company was informed by a letter dated 6 March 2003 that Schroder Investment
Management Limited has an interest in 2,294,857 ordinary shares in the Company.
The shares are held in portfolios managed by Schroder Investment Management
Limited on a discretionary basis for clients under investment management
agreements.


The Company was also informed that, of those 2,294,857 ordinary shares in the
Company, 20,000 are registered in the name of Schroder Nominees Limited (a
wholly owned subsidiary company of Schroder Investment Management Limited),
2,234,617 are held in a unit trust operated and managed by Schroder Unit Trusts
Limited and to be registered in the name of Chase Nominees, and 7,740 shares
registered in the name of Chase Manhattan Bank and 32,500 shares registered in
the name of Chase Nominees Limited.


The interest represents some 12.738% of the total number of shares in issue,
namely 18,015,975.
