22/5/2007 08:25 | Well its the left hand holding "talks" with the right hand, after the placing ZRL still hold 48.6% of ZNI. So we can be pretty certain the JV will go ahead, its in ZRL interest for ZNI to succeed. Makes use of perhaps underutilised ZNI exploration team. With Uranium now at $120, this could transform the prospects of tiny ZNI. | skyracer
22/5/2007 08:09 | dover - I definitely agree on the smoke and mirrors - although I think the time for a JV with a large partner is after you have defined a resource and have a bankable feasibility study as opposed to having defined a promising area. For small exploration companies - tha is the best way to maximise returns. | grimbo
22/5/2007 07:59 | my thoughts are that we wanted a proper JV with a large partner with cash and uranium experience. This smoke & mirrors stuff is only good for the advisors who must be making a fortune. | doverbeach
22/5/2007 07:57 | Interestng arrangement. ZRL already owned nearly 50% of ZNI (from memory) and after this they presumably will have a controlling interest. ZNI will now have 51% of main Uranium prospects subject to doing the initial exploration work (and raising more money - presumably more will eventually have to be raised after this £2M tranche ). As I recall ZNI broke away from ZRL a few years back - although ZNI looked like a disaster a little while ago when their main Ni prospect in Zambia turned out to be non-viable (and their main director resigning) but the new focus in Mozambique looks promising. Zambia has still to grant any Uranium mining licenses yet (through wanting to be careful). I would imagine ZLR want to focus their management and resources on their JV with Glencore,(which probably has more near term returns) whilst maximising their effective potential return for Uranium. One could also imagine this effectively boosting the share price of ZNI in the short term, which might bring more direct value (for Uranium prospect) to ZRL also in the short term. But I too would welcome any further thoughts. | grimbo
22/5/2007 00:38 | Any thoughts from the holders here? Came across this a bit late in the day. Used to have ZRL on my watchlist....ZNI is new to me though. Tiny market cap (ZNI)! | tonystringy
21/5/2007 19:35 | After hours announcement should stir a bit of interest tomorrow ,it will be interesting to see exactly what. | geraldus
21/5/2007 10:16 | Hoping for a few nuggets in the Minesite presentation tomorrow so that the share price can decisively clear the 20p level. | ramnik007
18/5/2007 15:18 | Hi drewz - That sounds like a wise approach. NB: As a TA buff yourself, you may have noticed that, after briefly falling out, the price is now back in it's longer term uptrend and has recently back-tested & bounced off the trend line support, which looks like a bullish confirmation signal. There's also plenty of head-room on the RSI & the MACD has turned back up: Apart from one recent spike, volumes are around the average. | hattori_hanzo
18/5/2007 15:11 | I will be buying a lump more within my ISA for longer-term growth as soon as the ASX listing is in place. Then transfer some of my non-ISA stock in each year until it is all put away for tax-free growth. | drewz
18/5/2007 14:59 | Hi folks! ramnik007 - Thanks for the info. After previously turning a shorter term profit on ZRL earlier this year, I've recently been accumulating again, between 17.5 & 19.5p, but I'm looking to hold for the longer term this time around. I think ZRL could potentially be one of the most undervalued junior miners on the market and is set for a period of exciting development and growth, it was only a matter of time before it was tipped by IC or Shares mag, imho. | hattori_hanzo
18/5/2007 09:57 | The IC article fails to point out that the Uranium found at Oryx is of exceptionally high concentration upto 6.4% uranium. When you compare this with the likes of Uramin who are planning to extract Uranium at 0.15% and still make substantial profits! Also, recent initial tests have demonstrated that over 50% of the Uranium can be extracted. And further tests should easily demonstrate extraction to levels to 75 95%. High resolution Uranium radiometric images at Oryx has shown extensive area of potential Uranium and consequently a major drill programme has been scheduled this year. Oryx project is just one of a portfolio of other potential Uranium projects. The IC article mentions an IOCG mineralogy signature amongst its PROPERTIES. Yes multiple properties. This is similar to the mega BHP Olympic Dam mine in Australia . What it fails to mention is that with an IOCG signature comes plenty of Uranium as has been the case at Olympic Dam. I think Olympic Dam is both the largest producer of Uranium and has the largest Uranium reserve in Australia. The potential is huge. ZRL has many properties that could transform into major mines and has a multi billion investor / miner (Glencore) who has continued to increase its holding to 19.2%. Glencore mining experts have obviously seen potential to unlock substantial value in ZRL. | ramnik007
18/5/2007 08:20 | yep someones put a buy on it, 12 months late as useual[hd]:-)) | jumbo66
18/5/2007 08:18 | Julian Ford also presenting at Minesite nxt Tue. - Obviously on a PR momentum drive for the ASX listing. | ramnik007
18/5/2007 08:11 | can you give us the text of the IC comment pls if it is not too long. ? might be the P.R we need. if you look at landore this month , all it took was some awareness for that to almost double. i think we could be in a similar situation with some publicity . hopefully IC is the start . | sitiain
18/5/2007 08:08 | And rightly so.On the news yesterday it was reported the Chinese have poured millions into Zambia over the years, paying for their resources instead of stealing it like others before. | geraldus
18/5/2007 07:53 | Tipped in IC today! | ramnik007
14/5/2007 10:50 | ZNI up today on drilling RNS: Zambezi Nickel Ltd ('Zambezi' or the 'Company') (AIM: ZNI) today announces results of field activities completed on the Mavita Project, Mozambique. In the last field season, Zambezi's activities included the following programmes: Regional stream sediment sampling Reconnaissance geological mapping Rock chip sampling Petrology studies Geophysical survey (airborne magnetic and radiometric survey) Final results and interpretation of this work have now been received and reveal the presence of significant strike extents of ultramafic sequences. These ultramafic units include serpentinised meta-komatiite, which is highly prospective for nickel sulphide mineralisation and where sampled, has coincident stream sediment nickel geochemical anomalies up to 1264ppm Ni. In addition, rock chip samples assayed up to 5500ppm Ni. Detailed mapping of the Moussapa South Complex, located in the south west of the project area, identified sulphides that were later determined by petrological studies to be the nickel sulphide species millerite and polydimite. Zambezi Managing Director Jim Kerr said yesterday 'This initial exploration effort is very encouraging. We have confirmation of extensive sequences of highly prospective lithologies that have associated large nickel geochemical anomalies. In particular, today's confirmation of the discovery of nickel sulphide species within these prospective lithologies at Mavita significan | doverbeach
04/5/2007 16:13 | Agree, this looks very cheap at the moment | capt bligh
04/5/2007 15:29 | I held some DWY. Nice. ZRL just looks too cheap. When the huge multiple potential v tiny market cap finally catches the markets eye, expect this to ease effortlessly up to mid 30p's. If Glencore havent bid before then. | skyracer
03/5/2007 10:16 | This looks very interesting.. gone long | capt bligh
03/5/2007 08:10 | If some of the projects are developed you know who will finance / take over. Glencore - V good strategic investor to have. | ramnik007
03/5/2007 07:48 | market makers opening blue | currypasty
03/5/2007 07:45 | Nice little positive update on the Uranium. However, I think Glencore increasing their stake is even more telling. They must know exactly what is going on. | grimbo
02/5/2007 13:26 | There must be a big seller for Geologic to adding in that quantity, I don't think it's any more than that. | daz
02/5/2007 12:16 | & now with Glencore increasing their involvement even more this certainly justifies the buy & hold scenario. I wonder if the price is being kept back by the large holders to make the Oz listing price lower & therefore more attractive. Any thoughts ? | 1967 |
