I have some sym and jrvs too ;-)

my logic with zgp is if someone buys 3.5m (ca 2.2p?) = 78000 pounds, I'll swim after him :-)

An email received from ZGP yestrerday, from a guy on iii:

"Most of our shareholders were valuing the future of the group on Onshare, unfortunately this service failed to gain any traction on launch and we have written off

the service in the interim accounts. Hence the decline in the company share price today.

The operating businesses in the group cumulative burn is -100k circa per month which is causing a cash drain. The management are negotiating to buy out the businesses to stop this cash drain and

Create an investment strategy to find a new business to reverse into Z Group PLC. We are hoping this will bring some value to Z Group shareholders.

Shrink my tunes has not performed and sales have been de minimis, the VSNL deal has also stalled and they have not performed in marketing the service to date.

It's not the best news I'm afraid, we feel that the above strategy at least will put a stop to the cash burn,

Many thanks

i wonder what happened to the stock at ebuyer ?

"2954 in stock" - 07 Sep 07.
"2943 in stock" - 13 Sep 07
"2927 in stock" - 27 Sep 07
"2919 in stock" - 05 Oct 07
"198 available for pre-order" - 07 Nov 07

Looks like ZGP had them on "sale or return". ebuyer couldn't sell them and returned them. You can now only pre-order them as Ebuyer can't even be bothered stocking them.

I suppose ,if in a bullish mood, you could say they sold ALL 2919 in the past 4 weeks pre IPHONE launch ;0)

It was such a good indicator of "sales" that the lack of them on a major website could have dampened investors enthusiasm, hence being returned.

From iii, 14 Sep07:

TheMysteron

So far, their products have failed.

Onshare, their "jewel in the crown" has been a MAJOR flop.

Onspeed failed because of Broadband.

However, i believe the recent VSNL contract in India (20 Jul 07) may help reverse that trend and rescue Onspeed from the ashes. VSNL is part of India's Tata Group. Tata Group is India's largest conglomerate, with revenues in 2005-06 US $21.9 billion and a market capitalisation of $56.3 billion as on August 30, 2007..They are MASSIVE.

VSNL is India's leading international telecommunications service provider. The Indian government owns approximately 26 per cent of VSNL's equity and the Tata Group about 45 per cent.

If you read Frosts latest report entitled "Broadband in India", dated 20 Jul 2007 at:

you will see why this deal with VSNL may be so VERY valuable and has almost completely overlooked/almost forgotten about.

Just this one paragraph sums up the huge potential of the VSNL deal signed only 8 weeks ago:

"There is tremendous enthusiasm among the dial-up users and an estimated 60 percent of users regularly access the Internet through cybercafés. However, when it comes to high-speed broadband access, there is reluctance, and the rate of adoption has been slow. By the end of 2006, there were 2.1 million broadband subscribers – a penetration of less than 0.2 percent."

Unlike the other countries that Onspeed has operated in, Dial Up is still a Major part of Indian life and will be for many years to come due tothe very slow take-up of Broadband.

There are only around 66m people in the UK compared to around 1.12 billion in India, around 17 times more people than the UK....and they still rely heavily on Dial Up, and will do for many years to come.

So i believe that Onspeed has the potential to more than recoup its losses since its original launch. It has just been almost completely forgotten about due to the constant profit warnings from ZGP.

I also believe that Shrinky will be a winner for Christmas and beyond.

Combine the two and i think ZGP have an excellent chance for recovery from yesterdays disaster.

Could be completely wrong of course. But you pays your money and takes your chance !

copshaw, I am aware of a broker note of 14 Sept (which has been posted previously by pork belly) and have attached below. Is this the note that ZGP were referring to?:

Landsbanki has downgraded Northern Rock (NRK) to hold from buy and Ladbrokes (LAD) to hold from buy.
The broker reiterates buy Dunelm (DNLM) and says hold Foseco (FOSE) (fair value 225p).
Landsbanki says reduce Pipex (LSE: PXC.L - news) (PXC) and hold Z Group(LSE: ZGP.L - news) (ZGP).
The broker has reviewed the Fund Management shares, in which they have downgraded Invesco (INVP) to reduce from hold, Syndicate Asset Management (LSE: SAM.L - news) (SAM) to hold from buy (90p price target), reiterates buy New Star (NSAM) and hold Schroders (LSE: SDR.L - news) (SDR).

Dangerous Brian,

just listen to yourself.

how many people are here watching zgp? maybe 2 or 3?

I am not in the least influenced by what 1smart does or does not do or by what his motives are

Dont make silly accusations about other posters.

You started making ridiculous attacks against me earlier on today.

If you are so willing to make attacks against me without any foundation then I treat you with exactly the same scepticism I give 1smart

Have a look back at the zgp threads from when they started, you will see my view given there over time, and you will see that I have been pretty good at calling ZGP since launch.

I didnt invest at all before the low twenties, and then only a few. I quickly sold those when it looked like falling further, and then added once more in the teens, and again this morning.

I personally hope my optimism will be rewarded, but I expect it to take a while before we know how well shrinkmytunes is doing.

no advice intended,

RoL

tan

thx re sync.

if ZGP issue an RNS tomorrow regarding the official Shrinky release then i hope they include all current/intended outlets it is/will be sold.

i had never heard of ebuyer.com until ZGP told me via email.

i doubt many other people have heard of ebuyer.com hence the lack of sales.....but if they announce it with the official release then they should begin shifting loads.

in fact, i just emailed ZGP to ask them tomention www.ebuyer.com for this very reason.

September 04, 2007 (Macworld UK)

Apple Inc.'s iPhone became the biggest-selling smart phone in the U.S. in July, according to iSuppli Corp.

The iPhone accounted for 1.8% of all mobile handset sales to U.S. consumers that month -- the first full month in which the iPhone was available.

Apple's device outsold the BlackBerry series, the entire Palm portfolio, and any individual Motorola, Nokia, Samsung or other smart phone model.

The analysts describe a typical demographic for U.S. iPhone users: In July, most purchasers were male, 35 years of age or younger, and had college degrees.

One quarter of consumers who bought iPhones switched to AT&T.

ISuppli predicts 4.5 million iPhone sales this year, climbing to 30 million sales in 2011.

--------------------------------------------------

The rumour is that the IPHONE will be launched in the UK in October.

There have already been loads of complaints about its measly 8GB storage space.

This is going to dramatically accelerate the UK sales of SHRINKMYTUNES in the run up to Christmas.

Even a very tiny percentage of the expected sale of 4.5m units in 2007 will make a big difference to ZGP's share price.

...and thats for only 1 make of phone !

Todays good review in the USA's top tech mag, Wired, will see these shifting off the shelves very quickly, especially as they already sell the IPHONE in the USA.

With only 23.7m shares in issue, this gives ZGP a lowly Mkt Cap of just £4.33m (at todays share price of 17p/19.5p) - this is going to fly in the run up to Christmas, especially when the UK public buy their IPHONES and find out about SHRINKY.
