Just checked the money coming in and it's.......
"The cash consideration for the Disposal is #69m made up as follows:

- a deposit of #14m payable today; (3-8-06)
- #8.5m payable in June 2007, on completion of the sale of the Buckhold
Road site; and
- #46.5m payable in January 2008, on completion of the sale of the Ram
Brewery site."

Yes, tidying up before announcement? Also, I wonder if this is some of the money they are buying debentures back with is from cash (or promised cash) from the sale of the brewery site? Apart from JHD, this is one of my favourite stocks, and 3rd. largest holding.

Further to the announcement on 23 April 2007, the Company announces that, at the
meeting of stockholders held earlier today, the extraordinary resolution
authorising the Company to redeem all of the Stock was passed.

Full page article in the Sunday Express' money pages.
It says Young's are a prime takeover target, the rule being run over the company by rival pub operators, private equity firms, and property companies.
"There's a lot of interest around Young's and could be the next big deal in the pub sector" said a banker last week. Marston's, Greene King, and Punch Taverns are quoted as interested. Young's were keen to quash the rumours, but an insider said " no company is immune to a takeover, and if an attractive bid comes along, then who knows?"
