Copper is sparkling today, though it is overbought according to the 14 day RSI so we could see some profit taking soon by the copper traders.

Asitis ........ don't you mean the MM's use XTR as their personal money box . Spiking the Share price so they can short XTR for as long as they want without a care what production figures are and yes XTR are a gold producer as well as an exploration company with a Market Cap of just over £15m . Doesn't sound logical when you tot up the assets , revenue producing fair brides , 100% wholly owned prospect , in Mozambique does it . Alas , to a shorter it would though especially if that shorter wanted the Market Cap to go as low as possible believing the MM's will give clues as to when to close their short ..... :-)
I've seen it all before and thankfully made a fair bit keeping an eye on the assets rather than Market Cap which is determined by the MM's .

MM's know Bird will not deliver anything for shareholders so they have free reign to do what they like to the share price How does he get away with it ?

looks to me like the Market Makers have been shorting XTR for quite a while . I wonder when their shorts will close since I remember a few years back when the share price skyrocketed from 0.05p /share to 0.49p /share on what was trivial news to say the least as with regards to outcrop deposits being of a higher grade than previously thought . Sad thing was these outcrops were very small hence the share price rose for 7 weeks then spent the next year down trending . Aye could have been the MM's shorting and probably was but hey ho ...... with fair brides producing income just look when the Market Cap is and ask yourself why ?

Third Quarter 2022 Production Update

The Board of Xtract Resources Plc ("Xtract" or the "Company") announces the preliminary unaudited results for all alluvial and hard rock mining contractors for the Manica Concession and production at Fair Bride, for the three-month period ended 30 September 2022 (the "Period").

Highlights

-- Total mining contractor gold production of 66.38Kg for the quarter, equivalent to approximately 2,134 ounces

-- Total of 11.90Kg (equivalent to approximately 382 ounces) attributable to Explorator
-- Value of Explorator share of gold produced US$651,641
-- Exploratory share of gold sales in period of 343 ounces
-- Combined attributable revenue to Explorator from gold sales and other income for the Period amounted to US$534,899

-- First mining contractor gold production from the Fair Bride deposit of 35.35Kg for the quarter, equivalent to approximately 1,136 ounces

Colin Bird, Executive Chairman said : "The alluvial and smaller hard rock deposits' performance continued generally in a similar manner to previous quarters with the hard rock being determined by the vagaries of grade and vein consistency. I am pleased to report that Fair Bride has commenced production and throughout the quarter the activities were concentrated in two areas, by developing a protocol for open pit grade control and troubleshooting the numerous issue which inevitably occur on commission of a new processing plant. We anticipate that the financial results from Fair Bride, where we have a 23 per cent. net profit share will initially be reported semi-annually."

Not much stock around this morning, way oversold on the RSI to boot.

Could be poised for a snap back rally, not much chart resistance to 2.6p for a start.

The Diddymen - most exploration companies say they are going to develop themselves, when they know full well they have no chance to do it. You know that.

I have to say, whilst I don't fully understand this, it does seem incredibly disappointing, Like CofMC, I was pretty sure CB said in an interview that there was no doubt we'd hit 2MT from Racecourse alone. No doubt he was shrewd enough to have his fingers crossed when he said it so it doesn't count as a lie.

CMC, I thought that Caravel were looking to develop themselves, or had half an eye on it.

Waterloo at the end of the day it comes down to the discounted cash flows of the project.

There is c£5.5bn (less irrecoverable) of near surface mineralisation - what is the cost of getting it out and processing it. What does that look like in the old LSD once discounted.

The good news is that all the data is there for the NPV/Conceptual pit, and the market now needs the detail to enable analysis.

In the more immediate future, the trouble is that a 'nailed on 2.0Mt resource' has become a 1.2Mt resource and the same element of scepticism will be applied to the term 'near surface' and in turn into the short term share price.

That's the cut-off grade, grades globally are falling but yes, it is low grade and I don't see how CB can say that Bushranger is better than the Boda discovery just up the road. See below assays as just one example, XTR haven't come close to hitting what ALK have been hitting in their assays. Also, didn't CB say a few times that they would meet the 2mt contained copper?!

Example of a low grade copper mine in Sweden is the Aitik copper mine, they do exist and due to the location of Bushranger as well as the early stage of the resource which will almost certainly grow significantly if/when more exploration and drilling takes place, it does indeed have potential to be a large low grade multi-decade mine.

That being said, Caravel Minerals have a much larger and more advanced similar type copper project which also has no buyers or majors interested.....at the current time. These projects will lay dormant or just chug along until the demand starts to pick up again, the world will need more copper.
