This could drop back towards the 200 day EMA in the short term, though the 50 day EMA is the more likely destination. Exploration shares are invariably volatile. Look at the performance of PXC for evidence of that.
As TCofMC states the longer term picture looks very rosy, but expect share price volatility along the way. You only have to look back at the share price performance of XTR in 2021 for confirmation of that

CB sold Kiwara for 200m USD 18 months after he took a speculative copper project through to it's JORC resource. Also, Hudbay was sold for 555m USD. Bushranger will eventually be sold for a lot of money, many times the current market cap, that's been my view since the beginning and I'm happy to patiently wait and see it play through and enjoy the ride.

These very large copper projects are worth billions over long time frames, but they get sold for 100s of millions and not those billions for the reasons lurker5 has noted above. If anyone thinks this project will be sold for say, 50-80m GBP they haven't got a clue:))

It is always more profitable for a miner to develop its own project, rather than to sell it. Any sale price will be added to a buyer's cost to develop and reduce its own profit. Its obvious. Its just that a sale will deliver cash more quickly, but at a big discount. Its why CB needs to be careful not to be screwed by AA.

Yes you're quite right, Lurker5. Too many variables and other assets, in the case of xtr. But I'm struck by the basic point that here we have a listed Oz resource company, already past the scoping study phase of its journey, still taking at a market valuation of just 10% of its NPV. It sort of reinforces the point you have made many times on different BBs that it is sheer folly by PIs to use that metric as a result achievable share price target. But then, quite possibly the same mistake will be made when valuing xtr, or maybe already is, unless of course the said company develops the Bushranger project right through to first production, to realise that NPV. How else can any resource company get close to that full valuation against a cynical bunch of stock market players?

I've mentioned Caravel Minerals on here before, it's worth keeping a a weekly eye on both Caravel and Alkane to see what news flow they are putting out.

Caravel is the 4th largest undeveloped copper project in Australia, only Hillside, West Musgrave and Mount Elliot are larger. See slide 8 and you can see our very own Bushranger project in there, which is going to rapidly move along this chart to become one of the largest undeveloped copper projects in Australia.

You should be comparing Bushranger with Bindi. Not XTR with Caravel. If same NPV (to same standard - ie BFS or PEA by reputable consultants) other factors like initial capex (you can get same NPV from different cash flow profiles or capex) ease of access, availabiliy of right quality labour, scope for expansion, ease of processing, quality of ROM material - etc etc - the list is endless. Answer ? Its too difficult !

So which is the better investment at these valuations, Caravel or Xtr?

You can take it that a buyer wouldn't pay its NPV, which is the value to its 'owner' and not to anyone else. To do so means the buyer would be paying the owner all the project's value. So he would be left with nothing.

I know it’s not straightforward to compare copper mines but Caravel in Western Oz updated its scoping study two weeks ago. FWIW (I’ve translated into GBP):

662Mt @0.28% Cu Eq for 1.86Mt contained copper
Initial capex £311m
Lifetime revenue £7.83bn
Lifetime net cash flow £2.42bn
Pre-tax NPV (7%) £782m
Pre-tax IRR 26%
based on copper price of US$4/lb, and overall cash costs of mining of US$1.90/lb in years 1-5 (said to be second quartile).
Copper production 35kt pa years 1-5 then 55kt pa for remaining 23 years.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

As I mentioned in the previous post (3783) ASX:CVV has a Mkt Cap of just £75.79m

Just saw this company mentioned on the lse bb

ASX:CVV
Mkt Cap 140.35m AUD = £75.79m
Lots of similarities to XTR's Bushranger site, but situated in Western Australia instead of NSW. Similar type of copper deposit to XTR albeit a bit less than 2mt of copper. Have a look at their latest scoping study issued 2 weeks ago on the 4th November.

Obviously I have crossed swords with p5tvr in the past. Take no notice of him. He holds a grudge. He is bitter and twisted. Both in mind and body! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
He's correct on PVR though. Barryroe was discovered 50 years ago and will never be developed.

Can sell a good lump at 5.65p so demand still their, also can buy 500k at 5.89p or small trades at 5.84p.

I want to have one final top up that would take me to 1m shares 300k I need but holding off for now with copper dropping 3 days on the trot and market having a down day, had 3 goes at 6p not broke through usually it drops a tad then come back for another crack could be a chance grab some 5.5p range if we have no news.

Well took a little punt with 250,000 this morning in 3 bits although no stock shortage. Just adds to my long term resource portfolio.

I note that only the 50k shows as a buy, the other 2 x 100k show as sells, but of no importance long term.

At a 1 AUD = 0.54 £ exchange rate that would indicate a valuation for Boda of £135m TCofMC.
Assuming a £9m valuation for XTR's African interests that would ascribe only a value of £40m to Bushranger by the market.

Yesterdays presentation by Alkane Resources, half of the 500m AUD market cap is ascribed to the Boda discovery, from what the recent broker reports suggest on Alkane.

My largest holding by far is XTR. Followed by PXC and GPM. I also have very small amounts of money in BKT, GLR, CCZ and KRPZ.
What I find surprising is that the Mkt Cap of XTR is only £49m whilst that of PXC is £80m. I do believe tbat XTR is seriously undervalued compared to PXC.

For the 4th time within 3 months the Copper price has gone back towards the 200 day EMA. For the 3 previous times the 200 day EMA has acted as intraday support and the Copper price has bounced back up off of that support. Currently the Copper price is hovering just above that 200 day EMA support.
I posted some weeks ago that the Copper price, since the high of May, has been going sideways between 4 and 4.7. Let's see how it pans out.
I'll post a Copper price chart tonight.
