have a look at BZM

JORC update due now (most likely will be next week) while already producing and Iron ore at all time high.

was 90p + back in Q1 2011. so this resource upgrade will trigger rerating of BZM

per the latest RNS:
"Mr Baldwin said that the Forecariah JORC statement, completed in December, 2012 is currently under review by the JV management and that the Company expects to be in a position to release the statement to the market by mid-January, 2013"

Dont know if you know this ?, but have just seen some news that another extension is being sort, putting back the merger another month or so, if it does not get it, the deal could be called off, do not know if this is right ?, but seems so, giving the drop.
Oh dear, here we go again, only good news is nothing wrong with the company though.

Another big sell pushed the price lower this morning. I sold a few days ago and am back in. When does the takeover conclude is it the end of the month?

Well done Trouty, a win is a win, the value on it is immaterial. You can easily increase stakes as you get better at it. I still have my IG account with £3.40 left in it!! (what's left of £1.5k) and have been thinking for a while now that I should be doing more on SB as no tax on winnings. I did not like the idea of leaving bets open over night, but I think now that if trading stocks then it is the only way to go. I was also being caught by having stops too tight. Think with all the automated trades by BOTs there are some huge spikes designed to take out folks like me:) Good luck with it - if XTA keeps going up, you should be in profit next week!! C'mon GLEN, get this merger complete, and let me see some profit......please.

edit: Forgot to say also that my other downfall was thinking that I had to be spread betting every day, and therefore entering trades which were neither here nor there. It was because I had stopped working and was looking a SB as my means for living. Now decided it's easier to send the wife out to work:)

Its a good hold XTA or Glen, I like you bought XTA at £11.96, and it looks like it will be at that level soon, either way its a dam good hold, as China is awakening from that long painful slumber.
Its been a long hold, but it seems to be coming good.
Anyone buying Glen now will be quids in for sure, it will double in no time.
Am running a Glen long on City index, and have a long running on ig index, took advantage of getting back into it after many years, always kept a few quid in there, which they surprisingly kept.
They were pestering me to come back, so I did, tested the water a bit with just a 20p stake so am up about £7.80 at the moment.
I know its peanuts, but I seem to be new and improved now, and its the winning that counts.
Also have a £2 stake on Glencore, up £14 today.
Am thinking about knocking real share dealing on the head, and just using spread betting, hence the two spread betting companies, to see which is the best one.
Figure its IG as it been around the longest, will see.

Yeah, still down old Clarkys.

Looks like GLEN are getting into oil.

OAO Rosneft (ROSN.RS) is in talks with a group of foreign energy market participants about raising up to $10 billion as part of its takeover of Russian oil producer TNK-BP, people familiar with the matter said Thursday.

Companies including Royal Dutch Shell PLC (RDSA), Total SA (TOT), Glencore International PLC (GLEN.LN) and Vitol could ultimately join the trade-finance package, one of the people familiar with the matter said. Rosneft would use future oil exports as collateral for the trade financing from the oil majors and traders

Should be good for the future.

it is just South African authorities demanding a little adjustment on coal supply details.
the days of asking if it good/bad for XTA are over.
a few more weeks following the all clear from SA and China and the fat lady will be singing.
What a long drawn out saga.

Prices of GLEN and XTA drifted apart again following the announcement that the merger has been put back another month. I guess that that means the market thinks that the merger is good for XTA and bad for GLEN.

Trouty - Still holding from 12.45 or thereabouts. Wont sell, as I think there will be legs in Glenstrata once all the dust has settled. They wont just be relying on mining as they have a load of other stuff they trade. Haven't done any more spred betting, but thinking of having another dabble in the new year, but concentrating on Forex and the indices. Just need very wide stops 150ish, otherwise you get spiked out. Older and wiser as they say:) Just bought into MONI a couple of months ago - interesting AIM share, might be worth a look see as I think 30p is the floor.
