SCSW today: The shares shot back over £2 after Xaar’s pre-close statement said it expects to report sales for FY21 of £59m, up 23% on FY20 (12% organic excluding the acquisition of FFEI). Good cost management actions mean it will report a modest profit for the second half of the year, rather than the £1.6m loss brokers had been expecting. Net cash at the year end was £25.2m.
In particular, the printhead business performed well with its printheads being incorporated into a new generation of machines being designed by several customers, and FFEI (which contributed £6m to sales) has been helping in this regard. Xaar continues to successfully roll out the ImagineX platform and launched two new products - Xaar Nitrox last April and Xaar Irix in September.
Xaar said it has secured sufficient inventory to meet expected FY22 production requirements. Panmure forecasts a move into the black this year with a £1m profit on sales of £62.2m. Continue to add.
