The brightest spot in my portfolio in this dreadful week is NICK

NICK gaining a bit of momentum in recent days, possibly echoing the recent strength of copper. I'm into copper via COPA and LCOP

Thanks McB. Looks like the spot price gives a more attractive entry price than the LME. I think the WisdowmTree ETN (NICK) is tuned to the spot price. I may add a bit to my position this week.

Time to dust off this old Nickel thread? Demand is only going to increase through the next decade, and the threatened increase in supply from China will be like peeing on a forest fire. Very little serious supply coming on stream outside China just yet, but I'm watching Mincor and CleanTeq in Oz, and have just taken advantage of the dip to take a small position in NICK. Anyone else looking in here, or am I talking to myself as usual?

Hi nick, thought Id ask you here.
Re CHL Ive been watching L2 all morning as you know Im trying to get my head round it all but not in the market to buy or sell as I have plenty.
I note that no sell orders have been filled all morning even though sellers have tried putting in lower.
Plenty of buys have been filled at what would have only been dreamt of prices for the last couple of days but not matched so would I be right in thinking that mms have stock and maybe a large sell order is being worked ?
Would I also be right in thinking that as soon as sell order is filled it will be the end of the cheap buying ?
105 also short term resistance and news due.
Perhaps writing was on the wall when the 100k app at 108 to sell appeared yesterday morning ?

Constructing a case for the defence
Interior Services Group offers the biggest dividend yield and that's clearly a reflection on the market in which it operates; property outfitting. However the business services a number of sectors, from offices and food retail to transport and education, some of which are likely to be recession resistant. The business has an order book of £494m for delivery in 2009 (turnover in 2008 was £562m), so whilst earnings are forecast to fall by 11% in 2009 the current valuation of only 2.4 times earnings discounts a lot of downside.

However, although ISG's cash balance of £26.8m is larger than its market capitalisation of £26.3m, much of this is advance payments by customers, so could evaporate if trading takes a turn for the worse. Consequently although its dividend of 13.2p a share is covered 2.75 times by profits and by 88p a share of cash in the bank, it's one for the more adventurous.
