True, you could also look in the phonebook. But this way, only the email address is given, so if people have got married, died etc.... you cannot offend anyone.

I have created this thread to help ADVFN users get in touch with people they may have lost touch with over the years.

The process for doing this is as follows :

Firstly, post the name of the person you are seeking on this thread along with a brief description of where you last saw them - example being "Raymond Smith, I used to work with him at IBM in Solihull".

Secondly, please email me at advfnlostbuddies@aol.com letting me know your email address and who you are trying to find, please include your post number and ADVFN handle.

If you see the name of someone that you recognise, or your name appears on this thread, please email me at the address above and I will endeavour to pass on your details to the person who is looking for you.

Please note, if you are looking for a lost schoolfriend, please first check - they may already be on there.

I hope this facility works well for ADVFN users who have lost touch with people, especially former Marconi workers who are now on the "sausage roll" :-)

Thanks - Bunny (Helping YOU to find YOUR mates)

This has come back again. Tried changing the date settings, as above, but no improvement - anything I search for comes back as a blank white page and "Done"

That was a weird one - tried setting the date to a week instead of the default month & it worked. Changed back to a month - still worked. Reinvoked search from scratch - still worked. Called up a new window - still works.

Baffled - maybe the indexes were being rebuilt or the search code played with at the time?

HELLO paulinesmith;
I am curious to know why you would want this information,

Quote: "...any fool knows that when a story is printed in the press
- it`s very old news".

This seems inconsistent with your "gut instinct" strategy, or have
you realised that DYOR, probably encompasses at least a review of
the popular press?

paulinesmith,

there are many ways for benefiting from share tips:

you get to hear of companies otherwise not known, or not well known, to you.

if the share is a classy one, then it dosen't matter if others begin to find it out too. it will continue to rise, irrespective.

if you thingk the rise on a share has been too steep, i.e. too late for you to invest in it, then wait until it had reached a sumitt and began to drop upon which time you can buy it at more reasonable prices.

Thanks Guys!!

Bobbly: Good and factual question. I need this info just to see what is being tipped in which gutter press. This helps me to an extent that I will avoid like the plague certain tips in certain gutter press.

I hope it helps.

Regards

Pauline, still 100% cash!!
