23/2/2005 23:15 | Can you have the childred adopted and get rid of the prob. that way | finess
22/2/2005 20:40 | Cheers for all the replies. I took the diplomatic route and charmed the office ladies into getting it all fixed. Turns out they are obliged to get them fixed, so i neednt have been so charming. No harm tho i guess. Thx again | techair
22/2/2005 19:39 | The radiators may just need bleeding (on the air bleed) if half of them are working. A relatively simple job if you have a bleed key | ffid
22/2/2005 19:18 | techair I do hope that is 65F not C What does the rental agreement say? is there one? Are they paying a commercial rent? - usually not IMHO if they are getting a good deal suggest the playgroup gets the rads fixed | marksp
22/2/2005 19:14 | My other half had the same problem with the church hall that they were using - ended up with the church replacing the boiler - but I'm not sure how they got to that stage - will ask her, and post later (though probably not before tomorrow evening) | zzaxx99
22/2/2005 09:47 | The playgroup that my children go to is closed again as the temperature in the hall is below 65C. This happened yesterday aswell. The playgroup rent the hall from the church , who are aware of the problem, as its due to over 50% of the radiators not working. Any help on tackling this problem pls with respect to the churchs obligations Thank you | techair
15/3/2004 14:03 | zzaxx99, cant help directly but I find the best place for answers to this sort of question is the UK.DIY newsgroup. I just did a quick search and could not find anything but I bet you will get an answer if you post the question there. | spaceman
15/3/2004 13:39 | my timer did a similar thing-i managed to buy pass the on/off and just left it on constant using the thermostst control to turn the central heating off at night , and manually on as needed a.m.- the hot water stays on permanently- and apparently that is recommended now by those "who know"- still waiting for a new one! | oldolie
15/3/2004 13:25 | could be a power problem. Is there an internal back up battery for power failures? If this is dodgy, it could be causing the problems,I know that this sounds wrong if you have'nt had any power interruptions but I have had a similar problem in the past. | bahtat
15/3/2004 13:25 | Just got worst - now the power off/on only fixes it for a couple of mnutes, then it goes again :-( | zzaxx99
15/3/2004 13:15 | I'm having problems with my "Honeywell Smartfit Central Heating Controls with 7-day room unit". Started occasionally displaying "E-04" instead of the time (and cutting off the heating and hot water) - presumably, this is an Error condition 4. The very helpful document that comes with the controller, and various web-sites I've searched don't seem to think that this is a possibility that is worth mentioning. "Occasionally" has now increased to "every day", which is a right PITA. Anyone know anything about this beast, that could give me some idea what it's objecting to? The "solution" in each case, is to flick the power off/on. | zzaxx99
03/8/2002 23:40 | Very popular with new house builders due to the excellent pressure and flow rates. Check this out for some guidlines. | blueflame
03/8/2002 14:13 | had a new 1000btu baxi combi fitted last year. i bought it for £540 and had it fitted by my plumber. total cost £620. if you buy the boiler yourself and have it delivered or pay your plumber to pick it up you will save a fortune. it should be 1/2-whole day to fit. BG use contractors which arn't local usually. they trade on their strong brand name. | johnpaul1
02/8/2002 08:19 | You can get the part through HRPC which maybe in your local Plumbcenter. Fitting is a difficult task unless you have a fair idea what you are doing. The diaphragm kit is for an Ariston but it fits 9.24. Costs about £6. A full valve may cost you about £60-£70. | blueflame
01/8/2002 20:44 | Finao - The diaphragm in the changeover/diverter valve has gone. Some engineers will put a new one in but most will want to put a new valve in. If you lived in Wigan I would do it for you but I bet you dont :) | blueflame
01/8/2002 20:37 | Guys, while we've got a C.H. thread going........Worcest been on for about 30 minutes. Desperately hoping this is just a component failure and not a new boiler. | finao
01/8/2002 11:30 | I understand a lot of the above commments, but BG's service plans are pretty good, I reckon. You can get a whole heap of work done for the modest annual charge. Worth a look. | march
30/7/2002 16:45 | Thanks finally for all help, I figured out from all these posts BG were coming it, have had discusion with local plumber and I need some alterations but by no means as extensive or costly as BG salesman was suggesting | paulismyname |
