26/3/2014 15:10 | on WGP, lets say you got in 12,000 at 25p. £3K. 94 shares in newco for each so say 128 shares. valued at £3.96 so you have £506.88. Tax write off is worth more. if things go very well and they list, you can sell at £11 assuming that it is the post diluted price then you might get £1,408. better than tax write off in that case but still less than half way to break even (but far better than zilch). no harm is waiting I suppose. might try my hand at shorting when they list though! | hugosamuel
26/3/2014 15:07 | SW isn't there a self help group for that??? | moreforus
26/3/2014 15:07 | SW, re MTV, if the stuff about Apple and NAB doesn't come off, is there a risk MTV will fold totally like these guys? I can see there could be a big upside but is it a big gamble? i.e. could drop to zero? | hugosamuel
26/3/2014 14:59 | the shares are a "gift" ,,,maybe NR will chase you down the street with a bunch of flowers in one hand a box full of new delicious share certs in the other IF (yes and it aint even worth thinking about .....) they give you free shares then they will just be credited to your nominee account??? surely!? | moreforus
26/3/2014 14:56 | warwick, ask them for an estimate for the revenue they made out of the Rugby World Cup maybe? | hugosamuel
26/3/2014 14:54 | I'd rather put £20K into MTV than ten quid into anything associated with worldlink or its legacy warwick. am looking closely at mtv though, seems much more worthy. how much are you in mtv? | hugosamuel
26/3/2014 14:51 | come on guys, you selectively ignoring history again surely. they did this in 2008 in the "arc" round. several posters on lse were in on that all seem to have lost a lot more than us. it was a "pre-IPO" at a significant discount from the anticipated listing value sent out with loads of guff about the super amazing US patent deal with Quest. look what happened. this company is a repeating cycle since the original £120m IPO promise in 2001. hxxp://www.docstoc.c | hugosamuel
26/3/2014 14:28 | yeah if it comes back at £10 i will be gobsmacked? but very happy that i got my hard earned money back and that i was not conned by some smack head as lots think of my old friend NR | warwick69
26/3/2014 14:26 | warwick thanks for that I am off to pre spend it at Ferraris of Narnia for my red hover car with unicorn leather interior...thought about dragon skin but it brings me out in a rash.... | moreforus
26/3/2014 14:12 | just spoke with marcus Barrett who runs the betting service they plan to float in September they are doing a small fund raising as we speak at would you believe £3.96 (yes i fell off my chair) and he expects them to float at between £10 and £12 pounds that would give me all my money back and some profit!!! he is very bullish but i will only celibarate when and if that ever happens... he says they are just about to sign up a Premiership club!!! who plan to give all the money they earn back to local sports clubs wihin a ten mile radius of the footbal club.. they are different ill give them that and it is a concept that could take off so my 2,300 shares may well one day actually be worth something ??? They already have Gloucester Rugby Club signed up and are about to launch 20,000 small clubs. but usual story they still have not got any revenue so taking it all with a pinch of salt at the moment | warwick69
26/3/2014 12:31 | Moreforeus... If I&R disagree the loss is 100% rather than 99%, surely! Conman or struggling businessmen... if NR repays that company crippling bonus I'll say struggling businessman. If he doesn't I guess we'll all just have to defer to legal authority to determine his intent. | sojourno
25/3/2014 17:10 | yes and the AIM mug punters they are looking to con are the same as well | stockonomist
25/3/2014 17:07 | don't they still have the patent??? | stocksource
25/3/2014 16:10 | the paper and bow will be worth allot more than the "gift"! | stocksource
25/3/2014 14:01 | lol just hoping it comes wrapped in pretty Hello Kitty paper tied up with a lovely bow | moreforus
25/3/2014 13:45 | I would think that there is a way of claiming capital losses on this one! I will claim full CGT relief on the WGP shares, and will be happy to pay Capital Gains Tax on the - no doubt enormous - profit resulting from my gift. | peterblok
25/3/2014 13:07 | I don't think the rules of "surely" have applied to WGP I am not an accountant however we are getting a "gift" of shares in a new entity - is it GWP relisted under another name??? if so agree entirely you can sell and crystalize a loss - however if it's a new entity then it's not selling off the same asset. | moreforus
25/3/2014 13:00 | moreforus, Surely if you buy shares at a price, then sell at the first opportunity at a loss and/or the original company has gone into liquidation, then you have made a capital loss and therefore CGT relief applies. Any accountants out there? | peterblok
25/3/2014 12:37 | RHPS to cover again. A key test will be a 'Markman hearing' expected in late 2012 or early 2013. In this pre-trial procedure a US judge will express a view about Worldlink's patent infringement case. Encouragement from this quarter could lead to out of court settlements. It is the view of Marble Arch Research that such settlements could be worth a lot of money. On the basis that Worldlink will be able to charge royalties, and discounting these at a rate of 40% per annum, Marble Arch comes up with its £180m figure. This is a very strange story. It's not one for Red Hot Penny Shares. But with all that apparent potential value, I'll keep it on my radar, that's for sure! | still waiting
25/3/2014 12:31 | they're a "gift" not sure about the cgt position.... | moreforus
25/3/2014 12:29 | At least I believe it means we'll be able to sell our new shares and claim CGT relief on the losses | peterblok
