02/3/2005 18:33 | Who would buy it? | hybrasil
01/3/2005 07:42 | yes there is Divi and NAV about 94p is the new management dressing it up for a sale ? | sootog
25/2/2005 20:11 | It falls silly but in this case there is no divi anyway. | warranty
24/2/2005 22:34 | What happens to the share price if they reduce the dividend???. I reckon they will have to do that | hybrasil
19/2/2005 12:00 | Well I bought shares at 46 and sold at 58 before I even had to pay for the shares- Nothing wrong with that (29% in two weeks) | hybrasil
17/2/2005 13:33 | well up recently management changes can only be good | sootog
12/2/2005 10:11 | they seem to have steadied a bit- At 35p they are a strong buy at 50p where they are now I would have thought a sell?? | hybrasil
12/2/2005 10:11 | they seem to have steadied a bit- At 35p they are a strong buy at 50p where they are now I would have thought a sell?? | hybrasil
10/2/2005 09:11 | Thanks Pug I still feel at 35 p they are a no brainer. At that stage they can sell the lot and still make shareholders money. | hybrasil
10/2/2005 09:09 | hybrasi:> Possibly. However my main worry is as posted above. I would have thought that they needed an FMCG man (practiced in the skills of dealing with major multiples - and I include Dobbies and other garden centre chains as major mults) rather than a man whose experience appears to have been largely in conumer durables and fashion, including tableware, which have a significantly different set of consumer purchase criteria and very different distribution channels. IT IS NO USE (imo) having a discount to ntav if management do not have the skills (jury our on this point and no negative/positive implications on current management) to drive the business and profits forward. | pugugly
09/2/2005 14:16 | pug yes if the new ceo does that price could go back to 35 range- do you agree | hybrasil
08/2/2005 16:27 | JIMCAR> Thanks. Totally agree with your last paragraph. MM's seem to be playing games today. | pugugly
08/2/2005 15:21 | Pugugly He said he had sold. He reentered this stock last year, hinting that there would be some interesting news to lift the share price(compensation for Cumbrian peat bog?), this never arrived and he has since sold. The article just said that he had sold. Performance is generally linked to the weather around Easter for sales and at other times for peat harvesting plus energy prices. Lets hope these are good. The new CEO will probably find some bad news to get the share price and dividend down and give himself an easy base to improve on. | jimcar
08/2/2005 13:36 | hybrasil:. PS, I did not see John Lee's Comment. If possible could you give key points? | pugugly
17/1/2005 16:51 | this has probably fallen as far asd it will. | hybrasil
20/12/2004 10:36 | Not sure management has changed. Look at the date given for the new agm in the body of the accounts. Para headed Annual General Meeting . Date is 27th Jan 2004. (Ooops!!) Also appears to be a significant pension shortfall. Agreed about potential but the road to Hell (otherwise Money Heaven) is paved with failed potential. (IMO & all necessary cautions) Still digging through the accounts. A thought:- Anyone know how the Garden Centres traded in the autumn. Were they down as Sinclair are indicating or is Sinclair losing market share? | pugugly
20/12/2004 10:01 | You cant run with the hare and the hounds...the market would evaporate within the garden centres. plenty to go for and special innovation on recyled products would increase outlets thro' DIY centres | sootog
20/12/2004 09:49 | I would have thought this would now now make a very good fit for an asset rich garden centre. Cheap supply of peat etc | hybrasil
20/12/2004 09:14 | hybrasil my sentiments entirely ....good for an aggregate based company to acquire yes its still in generating money ...this fiasco shows how weak the management Direction was. | sootog
20/12/2004 09:11 | With the old regime they could not even bag that correctly ...there,s a huge market out there I hope now they stop messing around and start putting profits in the bag for shareholders.....cle is out of the way. | sootog
20/12/2004 09:09 | Yes Pugugly but at this discount and now presumably with the books cleaned out I averaged down this am You are buying 15m of assets for 10m - nothing wrong with that and the thing is still amking money | hybrasil
20/12/2004 08:57 | What a bag of odure. | pugugly
25/10/2004 15:43 | bid time ???? | sootog |
