21/3/2022 11:42 | Ur likely correct, as most of the drinkers in Spoons these days are on benefits and in social housing they likely will not feel the effects of the council tax rise, energy price rises, and as are not fit to drive they have more money to quaff even more Ruddles Bitter at 1.49 a pint. | bookbroker

20/3/2022 12:21 | Whilst being a spoons regular theres reasons for that, first real ale and its cheap, second the opposition has been wiped out, but its nice being out and about and falling into a real pub, but theres another drawback, drinking/driving, beer prices have risen quickly in my spoons, but that could just be the price of fuel in general. Still busy though. | mroalan
20/3/2022 10:33 | Yes, i agree with that .That wont be popular having my views lol. | gozzie2
20/3/2022 09:49 | The other side of the coin to Spoons doing so well is that smaller pubs nearby are on their last legs. I've been doing more of the research that convinced me that JDW shares were cheap and the market had got it wrong earlier this month. In one town I was the only customer for 45 minutes in a decent pub a mile from a busy Wetherspoons. There must be thousands of pubs like that which have lost their customers. JDW has strengthened its market position during the pandemic which isn't yet visible in the figures. | kinwah

18/3/2022 11:09 | JD Wetherspoon sales edge closer to pre-pandemic levels but its squeezed by rising costs - as boss Tim Martin takes another swipe at Covid measures (That destroyed the economy) Sales in the three weeks to 13 March were just 2.6% below pre-pandemic levels Cost pressures 'mitigated to an extent', with input prices slightly below inflation Pre-tax loss more than halved in six months to end of January as curbs are lifted | johnwise
