This was always a sweetheart deal(giveaway of 25% of WSX) for Cochran, which is why I believe he rushed a deal(NIDO - Philippines SC54A) that was in it's infancy and not ready for "prime-time". IMHO the HALO deal would never have occurred without Milroy's takeover attempt.2. Cochran bought the shares before the deal was announced because he needed to show he was for real... and probably did not relish the idea of buying shares at an inflated price after the announcement. 3. And who are the "two new guys"? As far as I know the BOD is still Yeo, Butler and Patrick. I think it is a premature to consider anyone else part of WSX. 4. And finally: Even if Cochran was totally kosher and expected everything to go through... he still has to deal with the current BOD, one of whom is supposed to step-down from his highly paid position upon completion of the deal. I think Butler was pressured to step-down because of his extremely poor performance as chairman in return for the large shareholders' support and is now refusing to leave without a large payout. Everything I've heard about him is that he is a selfish piece of garbage. |
